Update: Estoy Infermo

I spent the early part of this week in a haze. Only my worst hangover felt this bad. It started Sunday night around 10pm. A friend of mine picked me up to see a film ("No Strings Attached," which I recommend seeing) and I started feeling sore in my throat. I remember thinking about getting popcorn to help with that (a substitute for gargling with salt water...which I have always hated). I didn't but, but I did take some Nyquil but couldn't get to sleep until around 2am.

My alarm went off at 8am on Monday. There was a lot that I had planned to do that day...none of which got done. My head was swirling, I was shivering really badly, my throat was like sand paper, I ached all over, and puking was definitely a possibility. I had so little energy that I couldn't even get out of bed until 4pm (that was some 14 hours in bed at various levels of consciousness). Even when I did eventually get up, it was only for short periods of time. The only thing I ate all day was oatmeal at 6, mainly because I had no energy to cook nor could I hold down anything else. I was awake more or less, for 6 hours before conking out again by about 10 after more Nyquil. Worst case of the Mondays I have ever had.

Tuesday was better by far (any worse and I'd have been in hospital). I had to get someone to cover for me at work since I wasn't THAT much better, but I made it to the store (walking distance) to get some supplies. I even managed to make some eggs when I got back. That ended up not being such a great idea I guess since my stomach didn't take too kindly to them. Then I passed out (the walk with those groceries took a lot out of me). After that, I didn't really do anything except eat and spend time on my bed. What sucked was I spent most of the night drenched in sweat. Not sure where that came from because I was feeling a lot better besides that.

I finally got back to work Wednesday. All that really happened were a few dizzy spells, fatigue, and a little bit of coughing. Hopefully there won't be any relapses because these last few days pretty much sucked...except of course Green Bay making it to the Super Bowl. Still really happy about that of course.
