I am keeping a public record so that I can observe any population growth or shrinkage in the CN world over the next couple of months.

The only number that really matters is one's relative ranking in terms of age. If one keeps climbing in that ranking, it means older nations are leaving. That is considerably more worrisome than whether or not the noobs are sticking around.

I would disagree, CN needs fresh blood and these "noobs" are the leaders of tomorrow. Having the same old faces running things around here for years and years isn't a viable strategy, eventually those people *are* going to leave.

I have to agree here, new faces and new ideas are just what this game needs. We have already seen what the old nations stand for, and now it is like watching reruns over and over again with the same tired issues and grudges being rehashed over and over again.

Give this game few new alliances and the good old days will return. Remember when a post on the old OWF used to only be on the front page for a day at the most instead of fossilizing there. And world affairs is a virtual ghost town with posts that have had a month since their last post sitting and gathering dust on the front page. And even if something is said it is always the same predictable script of propaganda and party lines. Nothing really interesting happens there it is mostly Side A posting some of their same old propaganda followed by Side B responding with the same tired rebuttals. heck it is getting that way that I can virtually predict the script of the thread before it happens.

What makes this game fun is when something completely unexpected happens and snaps everyone out of the daze they are in most of the time.

20,624 nations, The trend seems to be that the population is stable at about the 20k mark +- 1k nations for the moment, the talk that the population is plummeting is not as bad as initially anticipated, although it may be of interest to note the population in the months following the current conflict to observe the effect on player retention due to losses of infra/tech especially with established players.
