Goldie Posted November 11, 2010 Report Share Today is Veterans Day in America, Nov 11, 1918 was the day the armistice was signed to end WWI. Probably some German themed alliances who don't like this day, damn November Criminals Quote Link to comment
Facade Posted November 11, 2010 Report Share It should still be called Armistice Day. It has more meaning imo. Though I guess they quickly realized that when World War I wasn't the "war to end all wars" that celebrating peace wasn't such a good idea. Quote Link to comment

The point wasn't to celebrate peace so much as it was to celebrate the people who fought for it. In the early 50's, people wanted to expand it to celebrate all veterans since there was nothing to celebrate veterans of other wars (especially WWII). Quote Link to comment
