Polaris was never "in".

Posting in the only manner Grub taught me...the enumerated list!

1. The Emperor is the final word for the New Polar Order, he was in #stratego and he didn't agree to jack.

2. We never said "NpO is in" or replied to the list posted in the channel in which someone presumed we were "in". If someone wanted to assume we were "in" the hypothetical war because we would defend our ally then I guess that's a reasonable assumption to make, but that doesn't mean we agreed or subscribed to any particular plan or that we would be taking orders from or following the lead of any other alliance, especially not an unconnected band-wagoner or forum troll.

3. We made it clear we would not be a part of any "fairy tale" as the logs below which may or may not already be public show:

[13:58] <Grumpdogg[NpO]> i really can't see Polar being a part of this ridiculous scheme

[13:59] <Schattenmann> Well then I guess you have to tell ODN to butt out of the good one :P

[13:59] <Poyples> I also can't see any concocted scheme working too well, I would rather wait for an inevitable GOONS mistake than get caught forcing one

[13:59] <Schattenmann> I think the fake AA is pie in the sky

[14:00] <Grumpdogg[NpO]> we're worried about the legit CB not being enough to sway people and you're seriosuly trying to create some fairy tale?

[14:00] <TCK> agreed

[14:00] <Grumpdogg[NpO]> get a grip

[14:00] <Grumpdogg[NpO]> go aid Methrage

[14:00] <Poyples> Dopp tried that one, doesn't work apparently :P

Note: The "legit CB" I was referring to there was a GOONS member conducting the fourth raid in recent times against a legitimate UPN member who had more than 100 days on the United Purple Nations AA. It had nothing to do with the UOKMB drama. At the time, $1,000,001 in aid had been sent to the UPN member from GOONS without the consent of UPN government which we believed had been sent in order to trick the UPN member into accepting a peace offer. Now in my opinion it was an affront to an alliance's sovereignty to bypass their leadership and disrespectful to raid and send reps so low as to retain profitability in the raid. Furthermore it was my feeling that there are only so many mistakes you should tolerate before you defend your membership against raids as is your right. Evidently ODN thought differently and negotiated higher reps for UPN from GOONS for this incident and it is resolved. Diplomacy won and everyone is happy.

Now you can debate the strength of that as a legitimate cause for war (it was only my personal opinion at the time that 'enough is enough'), but the point of this post is that we never supported the "honeypot" scheme or other concocted plots morons like HerooTime55 were spamming in #stratego that day. Neither did STA (their name was bandied about as possible protectors...lol).

Thanks for reading, I will endeavor to answer any sensible questions.

ITT: People campaign to convince GOONS & friends that their alliance had less to do with the channel and wanting to declare war than everyone else arguing the same thing. Pretty soon it'll just be everyone saying they were an honorary member and never had any plans at all to consider attacking GOONS for fabricated reasons.

This is why you guys never have nice things.

Any alliance that was represented in that channel showed their true colours, and any alliance represented in that channel should be considered an enemy and dealt with accordingly. Openly conspiring for the downfall of an alliance like that in the manner in which it was done, if you weren't a part of it, you should have vacated the channel as soon as you realized what was going on.

Plotting the downfall of other alliances is nothing new to CN.

and any alliance represented in that channel should be considered an enemy and dealt with accordingly.

Yeah.... Good luck with that

I don't often agree with you, but this is pretty much spot on.

Thank God there are people like you to tell alliances how they really do business.

I spoke to Sardonic a day or two after he posted log snippets. I think he and I may have actually ironed a few things out. If nothing else, he understands why some within Nordreich are deeply suspicious of GOONS' motives.

Probably not what you meant by 'and dealt with accordingly'. Sorry to disappoint.

I think its pretty objective saying that people are backing off their previous statements, has nothing to do with how alliances do business, it is just happening.

I look forward to those in the channel who don't actually want to see GOONS die, to actually take a moment and do what you did, talk to Sardonic, talk to their leadership, hell, just talk to the members of the alliance. Actually try to find out what they're all about and why they do the things that they do, so you can understand what it is they are actually doing.

VE was predisposed to hate GOONS. But I'm glad to have them as allies and even more glad to be in a great bloc with them.

With how little I think of you and your kind, and how lowly I view you and your kind, it's next to impossible to disappoint.

Very much this. Where is that Iraqi minister when you need him? "We really didn't have anything to do with this coalition to bring down GOONS", "In fact, the reason of why we were in that channel was not to conspire against GOONS but just to have a nice talk about the weather".

No one is denying anything. No one is backpedaling. It just bears to mention that there were people in that room who were not convinced with the CB and needed more time to digest it before making a decision. I should think that would be a positive and not just running willy-nilly with whatever weak CB was there. Perhaps you should pay more attention to that, rather then just "Well, they were in the room, so they were down with the CB and were ready to roll GOONS." I don't see how you can backpedal from something when you weren't even going in a particular direction.

But they were going in that direction as my bolding of you shows. They were already predisposed to attack GOONS, they just felt that they needed a better CB to convince the bystanders. They were not "down with the CB" as it was, but had it been better they certainly "were ready to roll GOONS."

I won't deny that. But, that's not the point here. The point is people claiming that everyone there was ready to roll, when in fact, they weren't.

Looks like some people are scared :P

It has nothing to do with being scared, it has everything to do with correcting misconceptions.
