GOONS has the rare distinction of being one of the most misunderstood alliances on bob. Some see us as:

[20:59] <%Biff[CoJ]> The World and Methrage v. GOONS

[20:59] <@Cookavich[NpO]> kill the infection before it spreads anymore

A cancer.

[20:59] <@Grumpdogg[NpO]> if anyone mentions Methrage again im walking :P

[20:59] <@Cookavich[NpO]> a GOONS led hegemony is something that just can't happen

[21:00] <@Peggy_Sue|UPN> Agree, Cookavich

A bully

[21:00] <@HeroofTime55> ogod this war is going to be so epic

[21:00] <@HeroofTime55> i just <removed> myself

An object of sexual desire

[21:01] <@kingzog> <Cookavich[NpO]> a GOONS led hegemony is something that just can't happen <---- Fact is, they or one of their pals will come gunning for all of us, eventually.

An assassin

[21:01] <@HeroofTime55> 64D has proven in the past we fight until the bloody end

[21:02] <@Peggy_Sue|UPN> I promise UPN will not back out

[21:02] * Peggy_Sue|UPN signed in blood

A peasant to be hexed by a vengeful witch.

[21:04] <~Schattenmann> There are more gov memebrs in here that want to hit GOONS than there are regular people visitting #coj

A call to rally barbarians.

But having said all that, we are none. We are a simple justice loving people who believe in punitive reps and the rule of law. We are a work of modern art, people may see many different things in us, but it is the painters and their friends who know us best.

That kind of stuff goes for millions to the right buyer. Doesn't matter what the non-buyer thinks.

People fall for scams all the time. Or just buy stuff out of sheer boredom.

There are instances of rich people that were dumb enough to buy deeds to land on the moon, Im sure that it wouldnt be too much of a stretch that other rich folks could be convinced that a metaphorical turd wrapped in tin foil was also worth millions coming from the right "artist".

If you value something by however much someone else is willing to pay for it, then you have some seriously messed up criteria for what constitutes quality.

A turd is a turd, it may not matter what non-buyers think, but you know what you're selling when you try to convince some random idiot that the stench he smells is merely "authenticity".

How disingenuous of you.

Chron, you don't have a clue about art. Sorry to say that, but it's essentially true.

You posted a Jackson Pollock as an example of art so bad you refer to it as "turd". The same Jackson Pollock regarded as one of the three or four most important artists of the twentieth century, one of the creators of abstract expressionism and fractal art.

The criticisms you level against art of this kind were levelled against every new artistic movement that differed from the mainstream. They were certainly levelled against the impressionists, and impressionist art is now regarded as being some of the most important and beautiful art the world has ever seen.

You're making the mistake of confusing things you like with things that are good, and things you dislike with things that are bad. You seem to make this mistake an awful lot.

Well, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

Bahahahahahahaha.

Im sorry, but you have no taste.

Bahahahahahahaha.

Im sorry, but you know nothing about art history.
