Long story short, Modgate eviscerates \m/, UJW begins, people are ordered to surrender to Legion(lol), and \m/ disbands.

I would add however that it became clear that the UJW was a war of annihilation and later events proved that out. The goal in ordering the membership of \m/ to surrender to Legion, was to prevent a massacre--in essence repeat the tactics that many German units pulled in the closing days of WW II by disengaging from Soviet forces and surrendering to the Americans/British. There was also hope that we might some day reorganize, but my primary motivation was to save nations that had given so much to \m/ over the time of its existence, with the realization that if \m/ were to ever have its revenge on NpO, it would be a very long term thing.

Ultimately, \m/ did get its revenge in the War of the Coalition, as many former \m/embers such as yourself went on to become leaders in significant alliances all over Planet Bob. It was a pity that so many of us got caught in the whole anti-Pacifican fever that served as a sideshow to that war, but those who joined Vox Populi were as much anti-Orders in general as they were anti-Pacifican. Indeed one could argue that the Karma War was the final conclusion of \m/'s revenge on Pacifica for its failure to come to our aid as obligated by treaty under The Initiative.

Whatever the case, I have always considered you a friend and have been proud of your accomplishments.

Oh and...I too wondered how things would have been different had I instead of taking the offer of an old friend and joined Browncoats had instead join Ragnarok from the beginning. Perhaps everything would have changed, or it would have ended exactly the same. That's speculative history for you.

That's pretty much how I see it. Revenge in WotC was great, but having to fight with NPO to get it was eh. I personally didn't mind seeing Pacifica knocked down a few pegs later on since I still remembered what they did in UJW, and they were generally !@#$%y to us. It's good seeing you still around, Hal. We should catch up sometime.

I didn't realize torn was made from forme \m/ ers. Thats interesting. This is also the second time I've seen Tom Delay's name today.

Its pretty humurous to think of some one submitting to the mercy of (RL) Tom Delay.
