Food for war? Curries please!

Well, the STA vs AZTEC+WAPA war is well up off the ground now. And as we all know, any war I'm in wouldn't be complete without food (even though I have not created a silly food blog for a while). So, since it's a war, I figured a curry would do just fine to get the heat going. Now, I can't get a hold of tiger meat, lol (sorry STA). BUT - I am taking requests that are within my budget and dietary requirements (lactose intolerance being the main one). I'll be cooking and eating a war feast, inclu

Old poetry and lamb roast

Well, I'm sick. Hooray. Great thing to happen when I'll be headed back to work next week. My housemates cooked the lamb roast that I started with mashed potatoes, which was great comfort food. Fortunately we should be able to eat that for the next few days, and we still have potato and pea curry, pea soup and stuffed chicken. I was looking through old stuff of mine earlier today, and found a whole bunch of old poetry (oh gosh, I was so moody when I wrote most of it). Most of it's not appropriat

Vacation at the beach, crab stew and many other foodstuffs

So I spent the last half of last week in a house down by the beach. Great, right? Well, sort of. Altogether, there were eighteen people sharing the one house. Four of them were less than a year old. Another four (five really, but one's a bit older) were young children. Don't get me wrong, I love kids. I used to be able to play with my siblings and the kids I babysat for hours on end. But, now isn't then. And within two days, between kids, hayfever (we were right near a national park) and lack

Boring food and jet lag makes for an unhappy Coyote

I haven't had any interesting food in the last few days, mainly because I've been far too lazy to cook anything good and because I've spent 2 of the last 3 days asleep on long-haul flights that have messed up my sleep pattern. I'm not very happy when I don't have lots of good food. I'm toying with the idea right now of making a garlic and saffron stock I love and using it as the base for a potato and leek soup. I also want to do a stuffed chicken in the next few days. I'm jet-lagged still, and

Pea soup and the incompetence of my fellow players

As much as I think the new trade system in CN is wonderful, it's causing a lot of upheaval across the broad spectrum. There are circles pulled apart, people desperately searching for new trade partners, and alliances going internal. And a lot of people left without trades. Now, I've helped anyone I can find that needs trade circles. Most of them are members of my alliance. Some are people I was already organizing trades for, or friends from IRC that hang around in our public channel. I love hel
