Technology....

You know its kind of interesting watching the progression of when I was in school and we thought a flashing green screen that said "Hi Jeff good morning and welcome to Computers 101" was cool after 3 days of computer theory and here I am making a blog post using pretty much a point and click method. Soon there will be a time when everyone who isn't on the internet and has a presence there, is out of the ordinary. Technology is funny like that. As a kid I remember 8 tracks, 33 and 45 speed viny

Treaty or not to treaty, that is the question

Wow, I am just really speechless as to the turns and precedents this war has taken. Alliances going "pixeless" and determining that treaties are just announcements of friendships and unnecessary. Myself personally I think its a strategic and very big part of this world. However for them to be worth the dots they are made with alliances need to be willing to stand behind them. Differences are going to happen (aka wars). Thing is how does an alliance align itself in a way that they HAVE a choi

My thoughts on NpO and this war so far...

I will try to keep this as straightforward and non-partisan as possible. I have always been in small or medium sized alliances and I honestly feel "lost" with some of the larger alliances that chase stats and don't have a more welcoming attitude towards even diplomats. Again goes back to one of the cornerstones (imo) of any and all alliances which is community. At the start of the NpO vs \m/ conflict I will admit, I was happy that someone was standing up to defend what we all knew was corre

What do you see in this game?

Well, I guess I will get right to the point. What do folks see in this game? What draws you to the alliances you are in? I would think the community is a huge part of it. Community builds alliances. If that new player isn't welcomed into the community, why are they part of that alliance? For some it's just plain security. Not so much the community but they look to just build their nations in peace. Some go to the larger alliances because they feel safer there. Not so much what they can

Wow...just....wow...

Ok before I move any further on what I really want to post about I will admit...for the first time C&G played the rest of Bob...however how did they do it? By being less than open about it. Basically, regardless of "lack of" this or that..this is my blog and hence I have my opinion of things. This is the Cit vs C&G war everyone has been waiting for. The kicker is, C&G (and crew) couldn't face Cit in a straight forward battle so formulated a plan to pull parts of it one way and is

Spheres....what are they good for?

Well with the move of Stickmen to Purple and some other things we are hearing through the grapevine, how important is good relations on a color sphere? Well for Olympus it was a determining factor on where we called home. There were two possibilities tbh, purple and white becuase of our early beginnings. We have some close friends on both spheres, but we saw purple as a more unified and we had more contacts there. End of the day, sphere communication is good for trades...what else? I have m

My thoughts on NPO and cyberverse...

First before I begin let me lay things out on the table. I was a member, and leader with NATO for almost a year with ties to NPO before the face of Bob changed so much. I also was a "target" of NPO's eyes for sharing information from tC that was shared within NATO leadership with another alliance that they had ties to, causing me to have to step down from my leadership position. I also strongly disliked the power plays of NPO in regards to sole ownership of the red team. I liked the protec

Terms...what are they good for?

The interesting discussion is already brewing...who judges what terms are fair or not? Well the interesting thing is the alliances who's signatures are on the terms are the most important to satisfy the terms. What others think or feel really doesn't matter as much. I figure nows a good time for me to visit my feelings on white peace and what I feel is acceptable terms. First and foremost, I am one who gives props where props are due. Those fighting honorably and following treaty obligati

The real Karma war

There is an interesting side to all of this that I think many are missing. Before I go any further want to point out that I was against supporting NPO in our DoW much as many others whom fought on the Hegemony side. We instead came to the defense of our treaty partners whom respected our judgments, ideals, and communication. But, where was the war really lost? Looking back over the last couple years I notice a few things. The last major conflict was huge on reparations, some alliances just

White peace vs reps vs honor and integrity

Something that has really impressed me as of late is the treatment and response of alliances that are surrendering on the "Hegemony side" by the "Karma side". I have to say overall at least with the purple alliances that we have regular contact with, our allies have gotten a lot of props, and gained respect for our honor and integrity during this conflict. Seeing the overwhelming odds we faced on entering even just Olympus vs Kronos was an uphill battle from the very beginning. Alliances th

The Doctrine of Friendship

You look back over the history of cybernations and very few "doctrines" were based on honor, respect and cooperation of multiple alliances. Sure you had the collective blocs in the world, but overall what was the purpose besides self preservation? Olympus was founded on the following principles: These are the things all alliances share in one way or another, but with Olympus we took it a step further. We extend that respect, cooperation and honesty to other alliances. That has made us r

The changing world

Well the last few weeks have shown an interesting chain of events. The most powerful and influential alliance on Bob has fallen. They have lost many treaty partners and while trying to put up a fight are up against a rock and hard place. Sounds familiar for some, yet for others it's been a way of life for the last few years. The writing has been on the wall since GOONS fell. The number one, will always be a target...but this war was in fact preventable. Many private discussions surrounding
