Hello everyone,
I've been doing a War Web last few days R&am
Whenever I see words from the source of "kingzog", there's something appetizing about making a response. His thoughts are a fruit ripe on the vine, yearning for juicy reviews to be made in the form of a bite. There is nothing about this fruit that is hard to digest.
Like a red sun-baked strawberry, anything "kingzog" provides worthy of resisting the tooth is so small that it would be swallowed. Anything resembling a challenging idea is stuck in a seed of inferior scale. The rest is fleshy and s
I know many of you are concerned that somehow you're being set up for an attack. I wonder, though, if you realize just how well you're setting yourself up for it?
Let me backtrack for a moment.
Amid all the bickering between LSF and IRON there was some question as to whether the offending LSF nation had left the AA and applied to INT.
I'm not really interested in whether he did or not. What I am interested in is your GenSec's contribution to the discussion:
At the time of this supposed appl
“Arguing with anonymous strangers on the Internet is a sucker's game because they almost always turn out to be—or to be indistinguishable from—self-righteous sixteen-year-olds possessing infinite amounts of free time.”
― Neal Stephenson, Cryptonomicon
The above quote nicely sums up my view of the OWF and why I tend to not engage in debate on it. However, I must be bored with this war because i'm actually going to waste my time responding to your blog. Normally i'm a firm believer of sitti
Ok, so, as is often the case, a discussion about politics turned into a discussion about Schattenmann; it's a cross I bear for celebrity But I find politics more interesting than Schattenmann, and I don't like to de-rail, so, ta-da!: blog.
I just want to stop right here with the "rage" thing. I get this a lot, AirMe and some other folks in a ~very exclusive~ IRC channel from time-to-time give me a ribbing over my being angry, and we all have a laugh about it.
Let me assure you, I'm "ani
HoT very recently extensively referenced an (in)famous episode of OOC attacks against now gone players (quotes in the spoiler for the curious of you).
I personally don't think that discussing the topic of OOC attacks in that thread was a good idea (not that it's HoT that started it), but I think that continuing to discuss OOC attacks is necessary.
Simply put, the game staff has no jurisdiction over what happens off game and away from these forums, and at the same time we can't expect that ever
I am not the oldest player in this game, dammit!
But I am one of them. I do not remember WWII, but I got a lot of "first hand" reports on it from my father, Uncles, and their friends. My father landed on Omaha Beach on June 6, 1944. He told me that there was one moment in that war that affected him more than any other: when his troop ship came sailing into New York Harbor in 1946, and he was finally "home". Those who fought and survived that war didn't talk about it much, even among themselves
It has been an interesting time for us. Gone from the Cyberverse for very nearly a year, I decided to come back to the game. The major reason was to introduce a few friends to the planet, gently. Being a ruling Monarch can be a bit of a drag on one's social life. Rather than drag myself to the "social", I instead chose to drag the "social" to CN. What does that say about me?
And I have joined a new Alliance begun by some friends, originally protected by other friends (since "graduated"). Toda
This Week in CyberNations is happy to announce that AirMe, Triumvir of TLR, will join us live this Thursday @ 9 PM Eastern/8 PM Server. Bloodfury will also join us per usual, and I hope to have some other rotating guests.
Post your questions for AirMe here in this blog, and we'll discuss them during the show. The link to the stream is in the channel topic of #CNIB on Coldfront, or at http://www.cnib-group.com
There is a slight possibility that AirMe will be indisposed due to houseguests, so
I am insulted and appalled that you would dare start a war against SF. You guys have committed the crime of breaking my perfect record of being leader during all global wars.
It is written in section B, subsection J of Unwritten, Inane Rules for Warfare that "All wars must take place while sippyjuice is president of GDA." I am currently MoFA and GDA doesn't have elections for another month. I demand that you halt this insanity immediately until I can coup power and maintain my record, or I star

Let's look at Prodigal Moon's post as players, i.e. from an Out Of Character POV.
This game's politics is largely dominated by the needs of coalition-level warfare, which isn't good or bad in itself.
However, I find it silly that coalition warfare is so much engineered with "treaty chaining"... A hits B and not C, to trigger what D, F and G do, while C and D pre-empt Z to prevent F and X to assist Y.
How can this sort of Mikado be even slightly funny?
As I w
Jeremy Rifkin, author and president at the Foundation on Economic Trends delivered an insightful talk about our economic and environmental future and what he calls, the Third Industrial Revolution.

This blew my mind. A paradigm shifting presentation. This is the future.
I strongly recommend you to take the next 50 minutes to watch this, it is the most profound and exciting look at what is already happening in the EU, and what may come in the US, if we push our political system to m
Greetings from The Authority of Helghan! Due to interference from the wretched ISA menace, our forums have been having technical difficulties, and we have moved. We would like to thank everyone who came to the previous forums and we apologize tremendously for all the confusion. Below is the link to our newer forums, on zetaboards, because we have always found zetaboards a simple and trustworthy forum host.

Despite multiple, generally differing instructions on several occasions (my recollection of all instances lacking), I find myself manually typing in and joining every desired channel any time I connect to IRC (I use mIRC). I've put up with it for months but figured it was finally time to do it the smarter way.
Keeping in mind that I'm an IRCtard, can anyone please help me set up an auto-join list (with dumbed down directions, preferably)? Would be most appreciated.
A (roughly) 16x16x16 cube of TNT in Minecraft. You have no idea how many creepers I had to kill...
Anyway, I might blow it up at some point. I know this isn't the biggest chunk of TNT anyone has ever sent off, but I'll still be curious to see how my PC handles it.
So I am sitting here having consumed a modest yet adequate amount of Guinness and a couple of cheeky shots of Bourbon and feel the urge to post in my blog, namely that I feel the need to discuss cycling again
Cycling has been a passion of mine since i was a child and along with my kid it is the one thing I enjoy dearly in life. So as per my last blog post about bikes I talked about how my last rig was stolen. It was not the first bike I have had nicked (That is english slang for stolen for t

Basically, A British woman shared encouraging words with a reality show tv star who was being trolled in Facebook. This resulted in the trolls launching their verbal attacks against her. They set up a fake facebook account with her picture and began harassing her. Now the woman has obtained a lawyer and looks to prosecute those responsible. Facebook already shut down
I recently found This site that led me to think a lot about what toys I played with as a kid, specifically, of course, my army men.
Years back (not too many, but still, many), I had loads of army men, I had 'machine gun guys' 'snipers' 'radio guys' (radio guys were probably my most useless, but I used them to coordinate my forces). I had minesweepers, the guys that hold their gun above their head (I called them bayonet guys), I had grenade guys, you name it, I probably had it.
Along with my
So a few days ago I was joking around about Roqs activity on the OWF and Manis B had a great idea, that we should do Roquetin Bingo. I'll be throwing in 50 tech to the winner. I'll announce it officially later, but for now, I need to come up with more ideas for different spaces (I'd like to have around 30-35 options) We would use all threads on the OWF, and just start off at update at a future date.
Here are some spaces I've come up with
** criticize** DH (as a whole)
** criticize** MK
