enderland
Declaring War - Cyber Nations incorporates the ability to wage war against other nations. You can declare war on anyone as long as 1) they are not designated as a peaceful nation and 2) they are within the 75% - 133% ration of your strength range or within 250+/250- rankings based on strength. To declare war you must be viewing the information page for the nation that you want to declare war against. At the top of the page you will see a link that says, "Declare War On This Nation". This is not functioning correctly, because earlier today I was able to declare on someone who was not able to declare against me. Something is messed up with respect to the % declaration ranges then. The nation I am warring is far out of the +/- 250 rankings as well. Not sure our exact NS ranges, just that he was unable to declare against me but I was able to against him. Jack Shepard
What were your NS's at the time? Right now alden you appear to be too far out of range as 101,383.684 * 0.75 = 76037.763 and BMTH is only 69,043.965... But you were able to declare while out of range? lakerzz8
Well looking at the range, the smaller nation can declare on a nation that is an additional 8 percent larger. If you are larger you can only declare on someone that is 75% of you so if you have 100NS, you can declare on a nation with 75NS. However, you can declare on someone that is 133NS as well. But that nation that is 133NS cannot declare on you as you are below their 75% range. Don't know if you understand what I said or if I read your problem correctly. The balanced ratio isn't 75/125. 75% = 3/4 133% = 4/
enderland
All I can think is that it uses 0.75 and 1.3300000 as the numbers, in which case it is not exactly 4/3 and 3/4.

admin
That's most likely it. Yes, I didn't want to fill the code up with 1.333333333333333333333+infinity so I just used 1.33 instead.
raskull
Yes, I didn't want to fill the code up with 1.333333333333333333333+infinity so I just used 1.33 instead. Why not just write 4/3, and let the computer type the 3s for you?
enderland
Even just adding a few more threes would make this not happen ever again most likely
Delta1212
I thought of that and checked the numbers based on your logs, though. You should have been well within 1.33 range.
BringMeTheHorizon
We should off but there was no way for me to declare i refreshed the page even went back to my nation then searched him again and there was no way for me to declare keep saying i wasnt in range =/
iMatt
Even just adding a few more threes would make this not happen ever again most likely every time I'm about to post, I see alden writing something that I would have wrote. Do this, ad three or four more 3's and this won't be an issue.
enderland
[19:35] <~BM|Away4Evah> Nation Strength: 94,244.119 (My nation strength is: 70,833.806) 70833.806 * 1.33 = 94208.96 So he would have been short. BringMeTheHorizon
Then why where you allowed to attack me If i was out of range then you should have been too. Edited April 16, 2009 by BringMeTheHorizon
enderland
94,244.119 * .75 = 70,683.089 So that would have been in range for me attacking down, but not you attacking up.

Jordite
Why not only calculate down from whatever number is higher? That would eliminate rounding issues.
Slashes-With-Claws
Seems the simplest solution would be to just replace the "1.33" with "( 4 / 3 )". Minus the quotes of course.
iMatt
I believe it's less work for the computer to have 1.3333 and be done with it. That'll be enough to fix the problem.
enderland
Just putting 1.33333 would fix this in about 99.99999% of situations.
