A Tahoe Daily News Special Report

World renowned game manufacturer, Blizzard Entertainment, sent gamers across Planet Bob into rages of excitement last week with a short, sweet and to the point post on the developer's blog:

"Let this serve as fair warning - gamers should start clearing their calendars and stocking up on caffeinated beverages now. Blizzard Entertainment just announced that StarCraft, the real-time strategy game that players have been waiting for with bated breath, has released to manufacturing for duplication. The game should ship and begin hitting stores nationwide in about one week."

That highly anticipated release day is finally upon us. Lines, hundreds of people long, formed outside electronic shops across North America and Asia all through yesterday (Starcraft was released in North America and Asia today, it will be released in Europe on Friday). As one gamer was quoted as saying, "THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!"

Blizzard has reported that 1,500,000 copies of the game have been sold in the first 24 hours of release already.

WRN

Strangely enough, the Western Republic has, even though much of our internet is down due to intermittent failures and overloads, the #1 ranking in the world among ethnicity. They are second best only to the Shillans, who are cheating.

Blizzard is reporting dissapointing levels among Tahoan players of Starcraft. They blame the schools for their mandatory extra-curricular activities and the Setanta Youth for their disproval of video games. The Setanta Youth has called Starcraft a "detriment to the lives of young Tahoans. Instead of being outside working, serving their nation, and growing into the great men of Tahoe, they sit inside like common Shillans playing games all day, frying their brain, getting fat and lazy. We reccomend this game be banned."

For once Kyokujitsujins agree with their mortal enemies.

Recently, the Empire discovered a generic but highly useful mineral deposit in the mountains. The mineral can be used in the construction of nearly everything, and mixed with a specific gas, can build even more thing and advance technological research. It has since been named "Mineral" and in the interest of Pacific peace, we offer several tons of Minerals to Shilla

OOC: :awesome:

In light of foreign speculation that Shillan schools systems are lax and allow for Shillan students to play "hours of games a day", the Emperor has published to the world the current Shillan school standards.

By the end of High School, students must have completed the following classes:

(Note: Credits are counted starting from the Student's first year in Middle School which begins in 7th Grade)

Korean - Six Credits

Traditional Chinese (Hanja) - Six Credits

Foreign Language - Six Credits

History - Fourteen Credits

Sciences - Fifteen Credits

Mathematics - Twenty Credits

Other - Twenty Credits

Students must also pass entrance exams (which are known to be among the hardest tests in the world) in order to continue into universities.

In other news, unofficial reports show Samsung, LG, Hyundai, and Kia-Daewoo beginning plans for mass insertion into foreign markets.

The most of the older naturalized Kyokujitsujin students are happy with the curriculum, for it is much easier than what it was like back in Kyokujitsu.

Timor wonders where the people were when StarCraft came out. From our records, it came out in 1998.

Either way, we are hosting a StarCraft tournament (OOC: Maybe IRL, if anyone has it, :P), for it. It has died in popularity over the years, but there are still many meme's forming from it, alone.

Clan RoMe appears to have 40 Wanatetan members, while another 40 Wanatetans seem to be in Clan EmOr

Despite those that play fairly, many Wanatetans have made mods that add a Wanatetan theme to it. Blizzard's requests to press legal charges seem to be stuck in the slow bureaucracy of the Corporation.

StarCraft was mildly successful in Viniland, selling 20,000 copies upon release, mostly because of rumors across the country's gaming sites that online play would probably "be dominated by a clique of reckless addicts", and that the genre itself is not too popular - gamers either prefer more complicated strategy games, city-building or FPS. Nevertheless, retailers expect to sell more than 200,000 by the end of the month, hoping that StarCraft's online gaming will be more entertaining than predicted by the leading Vinilandese gaming sites.

In the course of the first few days of release, Clan RoMe has become the single greatest StarCraft clan on every server. Everyone is afraid to face a RoMe clan member, except the koreans Shillans, who cheat anyway so no one cares

In response to this, Biohazard, the Emperor of Timor, has come out saying he is a member of Clan RoMe.

OOC: FuRy ftw.
