Additional Weapons of Mass Destruction/Crowning an Alliance Winner

We can keep the game fresh if we add in new weapons of war, specifically new weapons of mass destruction. It would change strategy and maybe even things on the battlefield. 

 

H Bomb

  • You can only get it through a wonder (more expensive than MP) 
  • You can only buy one every 7-10 days
  • Costs 1 mil per bomb
  • Significantly increased economic and physical damage

Chemical weapons

  • Able to use against attacking or defending forces
  • Reduces soldier efficiency 
  • Population happiness decrease 

Biological weapons (This should probably be a very hard weapon to attain as well)

  • Effectiveness increases significantly with tech level
  • Able to use against attacking or defending forces/civilian population
  • Severe population happiness decrease 
  • Minor (1%) to severe (50%) soldier/population reduction (which would last like nuclear anarchy)

I think all of these weapons could be made available through a revamped WRC. Biological weapons and H bombs could have the potential to kill and maim--maybe for the first time, a single weapon could destroy an unlucky nation's power to wage war.

It presents the problem of a top tier nation being able to completely demolish a weaker one.  We have wayyy to many 2-1 wars going on, and if you give the 2 the ability to further crush the 1 you're going to have a lot more people cutting out of the game.

This is a great idea for SE,, though the actual stats and names of the weapons themselves need a revamp. 

 

Wonder: Black Market

 

Description: Makes available a market that has high damage weapons. You must go to a new page to buy these weapons (new link on the left for black market). 

-----------------------------

 

Some Weapons could be as follows;

 

Missile Launcher - Raises the amount of CM's you can send in a day to X

 

Unblockable Nukes - SDI's against this nation no longer work

 

Force-field - Reduces damage from nuclear missiles and cruise missiles by X%

 

Chemical Agents - Has a lasting negative effect on your opponents population (-X% citizen population for X days)

 

Uranium Enrichment - Increases Nuke Damage by X%

 

Armor Plating - Increases the effectiveness of Soldiers and Tanks by X%

 

Inception - Confuses the opponent into attacking themselves with their attacks X% of the time

I think that is why some of these weapons only come about through the purchase of a wonder. On one hand, you could argue that a nation downdeclaring 2-1 wouldn't use something like an H Bomb unless absolutely necessary because it is so hard to get. On the other hand, you can certainly envision the smaller nations that commit to war wonders such as MP now evening fights by the use of these weapons.
