In a world similar to our own, the land of Aurelia enjoys great peace and prosperity. A nation spanning the greater portion of a continent, the people of Aurelia live in a time where the sounds of industry are just beginning to echo across the landscape and the mystical sorcery of magic is being driven further underground by scientific theories and conservative theology. Peace reigns across the land under the watchful eye of King Jacob X, however as the monarch grows old the dark clouds of strife begin to cross the hills and rivers of the Kingdom. In the early years of Jacob's reign the seemingly eternal worship of the Father God came into question by a group of priests in the large cities of the Kingdom, believing the clergy's wealth and interference in the King's rule had grown too intrusive and corrupt. This was followed by the monks being declared heretics and driven from the cities into hermetic communities in the country.

Through force of arms and his charismatic presence, Jacob kept the Kingdom from falling into a brutal civil war because of the wide-spread heresy of the monks. However, while the King kept his lands together, he unknowingly planted the seeds for future chaos. Two daughters were born, the jewels of his realm. It was a terrible secret that brushed silently under Jacob's nose that his wife, Anne, believed all the words of the heretic monks and took the eldest child, Elizabeth, aside to install in her that one did not need the clergy to communicate with the Beyond, one only needed the spirit of God within. The younger child, Catherine, spirited away from her mother, instead received the scholarship of the Archbishop of Lynmire; he taught her that only through the meditation and strength of the clergy, placed on the earth by God, could one ascend to Paradise.

Time passed and Jacob grew old, watching with concern as the storm clouds around him grew darker. Years before he died, he discovered with sadness that Anne advocated the monks' heresy and had her beheaded at the wishes of the Archbishop. His eldest daughter was suspect as well, but the old King could not bring himself to behead his kin, even when it seemed at her death would save his kingdom.

On his death bed, Jacob watched as nobles pondered their future, some secretly casting their loyalties to the heretics. Yet in the capital where the Archbishop sat, the nobles and merchants still held to the True Faith.

It was, however, upon Jacob's death when Elizabeth ascended to the throne that the nobles of Lynmire refused to recognize her as Queen and instead pushed Catherine as monarch. The dark clouds that Jacob feared throughout his life, finally unleashed their terrible storms.

This is an open RP that Evangeline and I designed, to be set in the Age of Enlightenment (roughly 1650-1789), think Three Musketeers, Seven Years War, and so on. The plot is a war of both religion a monarchical succession to the throne of Aurelia. You can play any character you think appropriate, belonging to any faction, and having any aims, however both Eva and I regard the right to deny the character you create because it doesn't work in the RP and of course we will move the plot forward.

Some element of magic is allowed, but no fireballs, massive spells or the like, think alchemy and potion making.

The world of course isn't completely formed and we'll develop that through the RP, in addition I will make a map to show cities, rivers, etc.

If there's anything you need cleared up, let me know and of course if you think there'd be anything interesting to add.

Height: 5'5

Weight: 135 lbs.

Hair Color: Strawberry Blonde

Social Position: High Nobility

Occupation: Queen claimant

Religious Affiliation: Heretic

Character Traits: As part of the high nobility, haughtiness is part of Elizabeth personality, but beneath her extroverted sense of self-righteousness is a cunning capable of murder and execution to anyone who stands between her and her goals. She is thus a cunning individual and is thus closed to new friends and acquaintances because of her mistrust of anyone but herself. Character History: Elizabeth is the eldest daughter of King Jacob and Queen Anne, from a young age she was taken close by her mother and developed a deep devotion to the ways of the heretics. Upon Anne's execution, Elizabeth's demeanor became colder and aloof, in addition her faith in God was shaken to the core. Upon taking the throne, Elizabeth finds herself surrounded by enemies and a country on the brink of collapse and civil war, her claim to the crown is rejected and both she and her sister become leaders of political and religious factions that will change Aurelia's history forever.

Player name: Poseida

Character Name: Chap Viss

Age: 29

Height: 5'7

Weight: 190

Hair Color: Red

Social Position: Gentry

Occupation: Prizefighter

Religious Affiliation: Heretic

Character Traits: Chap Viss, while not of spectacular height, packs a whallop and is quite agile. His red hair and blue eyes are the result of his immigrant lineage; he rubs a light salve on his hair to turn it murky brown and he speaks with a forced accent to keep up with appearances.

Brief Character History: Chap Viss is the son of an immigrant woman who followed the teachings of the Orthodoxy. The woman was the maid of an affluent gentleman, who took him in as his own son in order to hide the fact that he could not produce children with his wife (his biological father was a young lad who died of fever). His mother died in childbirth, and her last words were "Chapter, verse", as she was praying through the pain, and a scribe wrote that down as his name. His new "father" christened him Chap Viss and raised him as a son.

His "father" regretfully told him of his true birth line in his youth, and he ran away for several months. While the child was being treated for "sickness" and disappeared from public eye, Chap Viss instead took in with a band of highwaymen and started robbing the gentry and bourgeois. After a few months of hard living, he returned to the comfortable life when several of his friends were executed for their crimes. In an effort to show his son some appreciation, he got him lessons in prizefighting, the upcoming popular sport following the new standardized Queen's Rules.

He spent the next few years climbing the "circuit" and becoming something of a minor celebrity, but decides to honor his father by taking church lessons. Because of his violent occupation, the local church rejected him and he saw himself branded a heretic having been caught in the furor of it all.

His father died six months ago, and he inherited the estate; he is comfortably affable but not rich or bourgeois, and spends much of his money on buying banned or criticised books or texts and preserving them.

Player name: Evangeline

Character Name: Catherine II Cambra

Age: 24

Height: 163 cm

Weight: 54 kg

Hair Color: Dark Blonde

Social Position: Orthodox Claimant to the Throne of Aurelia

Occupation: Queen

Religious Affiliation: Orthodox

Character Traits: Rather silent and reserved, slightly melancholic

Brief Character History:

Catherine is the second daughter of the late Jacob X Cambra and the Orthodox claimant to the throne. She had a rather distant relationship to her mother and was brought up by servants and clergymen since she was 5. With her father being unavailable due to his duties as King and seperated from mother and sister, not only did she turn into a devout follower of the orthodox faith taught by the mighty clergy, but also she grew distant from the people around her.

Catherine was seen for the longest time as the second princess, most likely either married away to some important vassal or a foreign power, though, she herself would rather have opted for the convent. Living in the shadow of her sister, most nobles didn't even consider her a factor in the countries future, if it was not for a potential alliance that could be created. Only after Jacob X had his wife Anne beheaded, the clergy was quick to suspect the older Elizabeth and in secret drew up plans to dispose of the possible future queen, that quite likely harbored heretic sympathies.

Now that Jacob met his end, the country is in uproar. Starting from the capital and its clergy, orthodox elements denounced the rule of the heretic queen and declared their support for the younger Catherine, a princess who now may be Queen... of a country that is torn apart, with civil strife and disaster imminent, which most likely would not end until one of the sisters found her eternal rest.

Character Name: Frank Darnall

Age: 27

Height: 5'11

Weight: 130 lbs

Hair Color: Brown

Social Position: Vagrant/Wanderer

Occupation: Bounty Hunter

Religious Affiliation: Non-affiliated

Character Traits:

Physical Description :

Frank is a well built man of twenty seven years old, standing at five foot eleven and weighing one hundred and thirty pounds. To maintain this he follows a strict training regime to keep himself in shape and his occupation helps to reinforce this as such he possesses well toned muscle strength across his whole body which he keeps concealed behind a number of simple shirts and a long knee length over coat. He finishes the look by wearing black breeches and black boots and a top his head always rests his black wide hat. Along the left side of his face from just beneath the scalp to his chin a deep white scar marks his face.

Personality:

Frank usually comes off as a very dispassionate fellow showing little opinion on matters such as politics and religion as he feels they are best left to those that require or delve into them regularly. Instead he only cares for the tasks he is assigned and that he be paid once he has accomplished them. However, there is a deeper side to him as he prefers to only use violence when required or against those he feels deserve it. When it comes to young and beautiful women he also shows a more personal side as he flirts with one and all of them regardless of his actual chance of success. As for what angers him only the act of being betrayed or not paid for services rendered would truly bring out any anger of the individual or individuals involved.

Brief Character History:

Frank was born to a low standing family, with his mother staying at home to care for young Frank whilst his father worked the nearby mines. Frank would see little of his father who would either be working the mines, sleeping or out drinking what little he earned away, his mother however, showed much care and affection for him and raised him to be different from his father. Frank grew up to be a strong lad and quickly took up doing the physical chores that his mother found difficult which helped to build up his figure from a young age.

It was at the age of fifteen years that Frank's life took a drastic and terrible change. Coming home one night from cutting logs for the fire he found his drunken father standing above the bruised and broken body of his mother and in a sudden fit of rage he hurled the axe he held at the man killing him in one stroke. kneeling by his mother's side she told him how much she loved him and told him to flee their home before the neighbors arrived to investigate. With no time to bury his mother he took what little money his father had kept and stealing a horse rode out of his home town never to return.

Frank traveled far and wide to escape what he had done and it was on the open roads that he learned to survive in the wilderness, such as hunting animals and skinning them for meat and furs to sell as well as constructing shelters from the elements. It was also during the years of surviving in the wilds that he met a lone elderly man who introduced himself simply as Drake and explained how he was an aging bounty hunter and wished to find a protege to pass on his skills and he felt that Frank was that man to train and so he spent the next few years learning the arts of the bounty hunter and it was during the last few months of Drake's life that the elderly hunter declared Frank a true bounty hunter and passed on his equipment to him before passing away.

Now with the dark clouds gathering and the increasing likelihood of conflict erupting Frank prepares to offer his hunting services to the highest bidder for he cares for neither sides politics just as long as he is paid he will be content.

Player name: Markus Wilding

Character Name: Jean-Baptise Delacroix

Age: 36

Height: 6'1

Weight: 206 pounds

Hair Color: Black

Social Position: Lower gentry

Occupation: Personal guard to Elizabeth Cambra

Religious Affiliation: (Orthodox/Heretic/Non-affiliated) Heretic

Character Traits: Jean-Baptise is skilled in the art of warfare, and considers all foreigners and those who follow the Orthodox school of thought as traitors who should be executed. He wears specially-crafted glasses, for he believes if an opponent cannot see his eyes they cannot discern what he is planning. Jean-Baptise always handles those around him with respect and an air of professionalism, though the same cannot be said of foreigners and those who do not follow his faith.

Brief Character History: Jean-Baptise Delacroix was born to a highly religious family, but rejected all notions of faith until he was assigned to the bodyguard of Elizabeth Cambra. Once he found the so-called "heretical" teachings he embraced them as if he had lived with them his whole life. Throughout his military career, he maintained a good working relationship with King Jacob X, being a part of his eldest daughter's lifeguard. Jean-Baptise stands nearly like a giant when compared to a standard Aurelian infantryman, and takes care to bring at least one flintlock pistol for his own protection, along with no less than two blades. His motto is and always has been "Better to be prepared for trouble than to die by it." When serving in his role, Jean-Baptise will not offer his opinion unless asked of it - in private, he will freely offer advice or criticism if he thinks it relevant.

Age: 34

Height: 5’11

Weight: 185 lbs.

Hair: Light brown

Social Position: Lower Nobility

Occupation: Landowner, investor

Religious Affiliation: Agnostic opportunist [Non-Affiliated]

Character Traits: Private, preferring to keep his own secrets than trust them to others. Has a shrewd calculating mind, making him quite adept at finances. Generous, but lacks much trust unless a person’s good character can be proven. An avid sports enthusiast, though, like his dead father, enjoys a good bet a bit too much.

Character history: Edmund paid off his late father’s debts and brought the Wenden family back to their rightful social position. He seeks to ensure such trivial problems such as money no longer threaten the legacy of the family, and as such has become quite a large investor in various companies. The problems of who sits on the throne of Aurelia concern Edmund Wenden little due to the relative isolation of his ancestral lands, but where there is war, there is profit, both monetary and socially, to be made.

Player name: Totally Not Triyun (ignore the display name)

Character Name: Charles Drake

Age: 32

Height: 6'1"

Weight: 175 lbs

Hair Color: Black

Social Position: Noble, Duke of the North Vallory Province

Occupation: General

Religious Affiliation: (Orthodox/Heretic/Non-affiliated) Heretic

Character Traits:

An incredible ambitious noble and sharp mind, Charles Drake is one of the most prominent nobles. He is a bold military commander who is known for being a daring risk taker. He is not very religious, but views the orthodox church as a threat to the power of the nobility and the military, and therefore has devoted his support to the heretics, as an effort to bleed dry the power of the first estate. Charles respects few, the Queen claimant being one of the few exceptions, though that is not without his own self interests.

Brief Character History:

Charles Drake was a prominent member of court rising through the military ranks. He succeeded his father, one of the wealthier noble merchants at a young age and has spent his families wealth to build up his military forces. He's known for being a pioneer in the use of artillery, and has won several victories for the crown in his youth against neighbors. Rising up through the ranks, he has now begun to support the heretics as he saw it as a way to remove the clergy from rivaling power in his lands and coming closer to the Queen.

Xavier Osterman Darrien, The Count of Zander

Hair Color:

Social Position:
Nobility

Occupation:
General, Military Governor of the Aurelian Province of Emulia

Religious Affiliation: (Orthodox/Heretic/Non-affiliated)
Non-Affiliated

Character Traits:
As the Military Governor of Emulia, one of the border provinces of Aurelia, Xavier Darrien had the dubious honor of ensuring that the neighbors of Aurelia have kept their interests out of the nation, he is a man who has acquired a reputation for no nonsense and strict discipline amongst those that serve with him. As military governor, having inherited the post from his father, the 7th Count of Zander, he sees the storm clouds gathering better than most, his family having been a key servant to the late King ensuring the flank of Aurelia was kept safe. He sees the division of the country in terms of his occupation as the guardian of the west, and the division of the kingdom means that any wolves that might threaten Aurelia's existence could come not from within, but from other lands, taking advantage of the divisions within the kingdom. A man who has had to always make do with what he had, Xavier Darrien cuts a stern path wherever he may roam, he is more at home on patrol with a squadron of dragoons along the border than he is in any ballroom. His professional and calm demeanor is steadying to the men he serves with, and his charisma amongst the ranks is respectable, he would not win any popularity contests as a favorite military leader, but his proven competency in battle and the constant conflict along the borders makes up for a lack of a completely personable attitude.

Despite his stern outwardly appearance, the quiet Count is also an avid artist who enjoys working with oils, and frequently, charcoal, and he can be seen on the ramparts of the Depointe Citadel at night, sitting amongst the cannons and muskets, sketching landscapes with charcoals, or doing studies of guards on watch. Having turned away from the social graces of the court, Xavier enjoys reading poetry whenever he can, he is eloquent, but socially awkward outside the military ranks, and despite having won himself a number of victories against invading armies and reducing border incursions into Aurelia, he is a shy and introverted individual.

Brief Character History:

Born into a prestigious family, Xavier is the first of five children, his siblings including two brothers and two sisters, the former of whom have since been killed in the service of the king whilst performing their duties along the Aurelia's frontier. Raised from a young age as the first-born and the heir to the title of Count of Zander, and all the benefits thereof, Xavier was brought up in a household where his father was away for long periods of time. When his father was home, the young Count-apparent was continually and harshly schooled in the rigors of the frontier as well as swordplay and survival, he had few friends beyond his siblings, and his schooling that was performed by his zealot of a mother deepened his isolation. His father would take him on a number of campaigns against raiding parties by the time he was fifteen, and the young heir-apparent to the informal title of guardian of the west would see death for the first time then.

Over the rest of his teenage years, Xavier would essentially spend in schooling, or learning the management of the frontier, and the application of justice, his father mercilessly endeared his oldest son with a sense of jurisprudence that had little in the way of mercy. If one was given mercy, he would not learn for his crimes, and the frontier was a location where giving a man an inch, he would make you pay dearly for it. There was a reason examples were made from wrongdoers, even if the punishment may have been more grievous than the crime, it wasn't that the authorities were perverted or sick of the mind, it was just the accepted way of doing things to ensure that the mixture of cultures on the borderlands did not rise up against the peace that King Jacob X had fought so hard to secure.

When his father died when Xavier was twenty-four, killed whilst personally leading a force against a raiding party, Xavier would step forward into the boots of his late father, the man he idolized and feared for so long, and continued the family's work. His mother would die shortly thereafter, when illness struck the land, and his two sisters would marry nobles from the country's interior, his brothers Malcolm and Arthur would die within months of each other, the latter having an unknown grave, somewhere with the rest of his dragoons. It was certain he was probably ambushed and killed, and the bodies burned or lost in the snow that blanketed the region shortly thereafter. Since taking up the sword as his father's successor, Xavier has continued to watch over Emulia, and has developed a reputation of dependability like his predecessors had. His affiliations with the feuding monarchs are fleeting at best, and almost non-existent at worst, but as the Count of Zander, guardian of the west, he maintains a position of importance for the kingdom; his family has bled to keep safe the borders of the country they have served for centuries, and continues to do so despite the clouds of strife that seemingly begin to darken the country.

Character Name:
Simon Lawrence

Age:
41

Height:
6'4"

Weight:
220

Hair Color:
Strawberry blonde

Social Position:
Merchant Class (non-noble, but not lower class, either)

Occupation:
Captain of the Palace Guard

Religious Affiliation:
Orthodox

Character Traits:
Captain Simon Lawrence is, unless the situation demands otherwise, a man of few but concise words. He neither minces them, nor wastes them when not needed. He has a well-earned reputation for being a strong, competent leader, yet a private man. He is capable of phrasing things more diplomatically should the need arise, as evidenced by his current position, but neither is he deliberately rude with those he needs not worry about being polite to. He's just less...worried about how they might interpret terse answers or orders. Lawrence possesses a healthy degree of paranoia, as any good guardsman should--it comes with the job, and as such, he is always assessing potential threats.

In addition, he is a man of deep convictions, both politically, and spiritually, which up until now have not had cause to conflict. But now, with the current crisis, they are at odds. He has a strong faith in the old, traditional ways. That the younger sister should be pressed when tradition demands the eldest be heir rankles his conscience, and yet the heretical ways of the legitimate heir are difficult to abide.

Due to his private nature, the existence of his internal conflict is as yet unknown to others. But once he makes his choice, if ever he can make himself do it, he will stick with it, to the bitter end.

Brief Character History:

Simon Lawrence was born into a family of--you might have guessed it--traders. They were never poor, per se, but his father, William, always stressed over the next shipment, barely managing to stay one step ahead of creditors. Until a lucky break (for William, unlucky for others) struck. A heavy storm arose at sea, sinking several trading vessels--except for the one that carried his cargo. he was able to sell it at much inflated prices, and still sell it all, heavily increasing profits to the point he could expand his trading empire drastically.

From that point on, William and his family had enough to live very, very comfortably...more comfortably than many a landed gentry. His wife, two daughters, and three sons in all, all cared for in this new, improved lifestyle, thought they never forgot to praise the Father God, and give their appropriate dues to the Church.

Still, even with this luxury, William worried that the business might die with him, so he taught his sons...or at least tried to, the finer skills of being a merchant. All of them, save for the middle one, Simon, turned out to have an aptitude for it. Unlike his brothers, Simon's thoughts turned in a more martial, patriotic direction, to serve the crown as a soldier. His brothers, seeing this as one less competitor once their father passed on and left the business to them, encouraged this. Even at his youthful age, it was clear he would have a large, strong build. he would be an intimidating sight on any battlefield.

So it was that when he was still a young man of sixteen, he volunteered for military service. It was a hard, harsh life, but he quickly adapted, working his way slowly up through the ranks. It wasn't until a rather heated border skirmish, however, that he really proved his mettle, not only driving off his share of the encroaching soldiers, but saving the life of his commanding officer and preventing the razing of a small town. From a grateful townsman, he was given a mysterious potion that he placed in his pack, and from the officer, a nobleman with connections in the capital, a personal commendation to the crown for service in their guard. Needless to say, the commendation was well received.

And there, he worked his way up the ranks again, eventually foiling a heretic assassination plot that left several other guardsmen dead, and himself grievously wounded. That he survived...was thanks only to that potion he'd gotten years before. It kept him alive, made him just that much tougher, stronger, capable of surviving until he could heal normally. And the effects have stayed with him since, though he has told no one of them. To be sure, with the current crisis, revealing them is the last thing on his mind...

Player name: Vidarr the Terrible
Character Name: Alex Bronsen (birth name Trudeaux)
Age: 31
Height: 6 feet
Weight: 175 lbs
Hair Color: Dark Blonde
Social Position: Outlaw (Murder, Burglary, Piracy, Treason)
Occupation: Pirate
Religious Affiliation: Non-Affiliated
Character Traits: Coming from a well-off family, Alex was trained by some of the best marksmen and swordsmen in the kingdom, although after his training stopped, he developed his own less efficient, but just as effective methods. He inspires loyalty in his crew by doing everything and anything he asks of anyone on board his ship. He has been seen swabbing the deck with the hands, hoisting sails, etc. It is for this reason his enemies fear him, and his prisoners dread their time.
Brief Character History:
Alex was born to a family of nobles on the western frontiers of Aurelia. He grew up on a ranch nestled in one of the many mountain valleys, safe from the intrigue of the capital region. For the first sixteen years of his life, he learned to ride a horse, shoot a flintlock, and swing a sword to mastery.

Alex's time in relative aristocracy did not last long. His parents were ones who wanted Catherine on the throne. As much as they assisted the Lynmire nobles in their good quest, their people were extremely loyal to Jacob's line of succession. In one night, the people of the small ranch town raided and imprisoned his parents for the new queen. Luckily though, Alex was ushered away by his parents' butler. The butler assumed the role of his father as they rode towards the port city of Astor and signed him up for the Royal Navy as Alexander Bronsen.

At the age of 18, he was first stationed as a deckhand on a Trader Defense ship, a ship specifically made to outrun and outgun any known pirate vessel in the seas. The Captain was a ruthless man, berating for the smallest offenses and weeding out mutinous behavior like it was the easiest thing in the world. Alex managed to get on the Captain's good side by staying quiet, always meeting the Captain's ridiculous demands, and doing exactly what was asked. After two years under his command, Alex had earned a spot as one of the Captain's cooks, a trusted position for only the most loyal men.

However, Alex hated the Captain. For one, he was an officer in service to the woman who had his parents kidnapped and possibly executed. Also, he had a sympathy for the other deckhands. They truly tried their hardest, and their animosity towards the Captain's demands wasn't unfounded. So, one night when they made port, Alex went to an alchemist and got his hands on a hallucinogenic drug and placed it into a drink he made for the Captain.

Later, at dinner, he challenged the Captain to a duel to first blood. Alex knew that the Captain had a large ego, and loved the art of swordplay. So, after dinner, when the drug was to take effect, the duel began. At first, the Captain had a huge advantage, with Alex having to use his youthful dexterity to bound around the ship, waiting for the drug to take effect. As soon as the Captain started to swing his sword at imaginary foes, Alex took the chance to strike. He came from behind him and stuck his sword through the Captain's back. Before the officers had any chance to react, Alex took the Captain's gun and shot the first mate. As the Captain went down, Alex whispered into his ear, "For Catherine, the true Queen."

Alex threw the Captain and his first mate overboard, and assumed command of the Velagia. He put an experienced man on the helm, and an experienced man navigating, and resumed his work on the ship. For the next decade, they sailed along the trade lanes, taking what belonged to the Queen and using it to advance their riches.

Character Name:
Farore

Age:
Twenty-two

Height:
168 cm

Weight:
48kg

Hair Colour:
Blonde

Social Position:
Merchant

Occupation:
Merchant

Religious Affiliation:
Non-affiliated

Character Traits:
Using Religion as a bartering and social tool rather than a faith to follow, Farore uses her silver tongue to lighten the wallets of those that come her way. A concise and persuasive speaker when bartering, but a rare speaker in all other cases.

Her lack of religious exposure during her upbringing has awarded her an edge of scepticism, and pushed her towards agnosticism - rather than battling it out for religious legitimacy, Farore instead follows the path of greatest profit. Guided by her honour, however, she may well make an unorthodox decision.

Brief Character History:

Growing up in an overcrowded hostel filled with young children, the girl was deemed unworthy of a name, and instead reduced to being called out by her appearance. Her "benefactors" who had left her to the hostel had not seen it fit to name her, and why name one who was to spend the rest of their life in the mines?

Throughout her time there, Blonde hair grey shirt girl entrenched herself as a vendor, though a somewhat less dignified one. At the age of fourteen, and one of the few who were able to return from the mines, she was considered the one to go to for your tangible needs. Wanted some matches? Extra food? Another blanket? In a puzzling growth, she had gained a small amount of wealth - tiny in comparison to actual merchants, but enough to get on by in an overcrowded and understaffed, hostel, especially when it was actively sending them to mines.

Not everyone enjoyed her archaic monopoly, however - those who had survived for even longer than she had were tired of having to bend to a younger girl in order to sate their needs, and they could easily, but not as well, do it themselves.

Thus, Bald black shirt girl was soon pronounced dead within the mines. The extra fervour required to try and regain wealth through mine-working was all too much, and the punishment it was putting her body through was far too much. Silent celebrations were held - now, the others could be the malign benefactors to the hostel, and it meant space for a stronger worker was available.

A young girl, however, was making her way into the world. With what she had managed to "barter" within the hostel, and the staple equipment they were given, she was soon picked up by a prosperous merchant, and sent around to sell little foibles to the elastic populace of the town. Spare time was spent refining combat proficiency (for she had picked up basic fighting through squabbles in the hostel), and sniffing around for dormant profit.

Through the years, she was able to build up her strength and wealth, to the point where she stood to make a profit from selling the goods from her newly acquired horse-drawn wagon. Her employer was none too happy to void his ownership contract of her, but after some armed men arrived at his house in the dead of the night, he was soon convinced otherwise.

Now, Farore rides upon her wagon behind an Orthodox army, more than happy to relieve the soldiers of their pay, and their bodies of worldly possessions.

Character Name: Sarah Windcaller

Age: 17

Height: 5'6"

Weight: 135 lbs

Hair Color: Red/black

Social Position: Lower Nobility

Occupation: Assassin

Religious Affiliation: Heretic

Character Traits: On the tall side, even if she were male, Sarah is extremely dextrous and well-balanced, able to walk upon and reach precarious positions with a relative ease born of years of practice. Her kinaesthetic sense is very good, partially explaining her skill and dexterity, as she always knows where everything about her is in relation to herself, an uncommon trait that usually requires practice to achieve ownership of. She is also possessed of a beautiful, if forgettable, face.

Brief Character History: Born to noble parents in Aurelia's capitol, Sarah's life was turned upside down at the age of eleven, when a group of heretical monks kidnapped her for an alchemical experiment they needed a child to complete. The end result of the experiment graced her with speed and agility, as well as her height and uncanny grace, tinging the ends of her red hair the darkest black as a side effect. From there they taught her the tenets of their faith, divorced from the Orthodox practices she had grown up and grown accustomed to. They taught her how to use blades, how to use bows, and how to move silently and discreetly, unnoticed by the greater majority of the populace.

Then they taught her to kill, and at the age of fourteen, she killed the son of an Orthodox duke, poisoning his wine while she distracted him on the steps of his father's manor, enticing him with promises of passion while the hand he wasn't paying attention to poured a tasteless, colorless powder into the burgundy in his hand. From then, she killed a number of lower nobles in a similarly discreet fashion, as well as crime lords and others in less discreet or pleasant ways.

Now she walks the land, a ghost leaving a trail of whispers and bodies in her wake, none sure of her identity, only knowing that she appears where trouble is mot likely to strike next, none sure if she even exists, earning her the moniker of "the Stormbringer", spoken with fear and trepidation. But she harbors doubts of the rightness of her work, the necessity of the evils she commits for the greatest good of the land about her...

Player name: SpacingOutMan

Character Name: Obed Whiting

Age: 29

Height: 5'10"

Weight: 130 lbs

Hair Color: Light brown

Social Position: Low nobility

Occupation: Alchemist/scientist/naturalist of Astor

Religious Affiliation: Non-affiliated

Character Traits: Categorically scrawny by both height and weight, Obed's physique is complemented by his shear intellect and inquisitive prowess. He relies on logic and, because of his upbringing, is an emotional introvert, a trait that often gives him the appearance of being cold and desensitized to the world. He is strong willed and is able to safeguard his feelings, spanning across the spectrum from galvanized to utter despair. The only time he will ever display any excitement is when he stumbles across a breakthrough in his studies; he bursts into a sudden giddy merriment that the public oft perceives as droll. Obed is largely ambivalent about the state of affairs in both Aurelia and what he describes as its "gaudy dogma". While remaining apathetic about lofty idealism and religion, he does maintain a strict moral code regarding his science and alchemy; whether it's disturbing the dead or augmenting the body in avarice, he disavows any attempts that seek to purposely pervert the "natural order of things".

Brief Character History: Obed was born to an extant family of noble blood and was raised in a very conservative and protective household. At the age of six, he was assigned a prominent tutor who nurtured the boy's latent curiosity. Unlike his two brothers, he preferred the comfort of ancient tomes more than glitzy parties and plentiful feasts. Other than that, nothing more is known about Obed Whiting's past with one exception. Tragically, on his 14[sup]th [/sup]name day, an arsonist set ablaze to his household, killing every member of his household... except for himself and his youngest brother, Gad, who disappeared two days later. His teacher took him in and filled the niche Obed's vaporized family once fulfilled. Fifteen years later, between the inheritance afford to him by his biological family and his teacher, Obed uses his handsome wealth to fund his own scientific and naturalist endeavors in the Gulf of Cambria, the City of Astor, the Laurel River, and Forest of Purjo specifically, all of which he now knows like the back of his hand.
