    The Time

NUREMBERG- Military exercises will begin in Bavaria next month. This will be the first major exercise following the collapse of the Athenian Federation. Only Russia and Prussia continue to function as beacons of stability in Europe. With the risk of violence stemming from this lawlessness, the exercises will focus on rapid response scenarios from natural disasters, cyber attacks and full blown invasion of a friendly state. In addition to these exercises defense companies will be on hand to showcase their new systems for military decision-makers. Virtus International will be the favorite to develop a new anti-missile platform, but there are rumors the system has encountered several delays during the most recent trials.
  3. Imperator Azenquor - entire Russian GM team for the win.
  4. Just make it an ownership thread where we list who owns what. There's not enough of us left for there to be too many issues to deal with, so lets not make it complicated.

Government to Expand Armed Forces Berlin - The government has announced plans to recruit an additional 50,000 active duty personnel and nearly 100,000 new reserve personnel in the first major recruitment effort in over a decade. Defense spokesman Jens Uwe, speaking in front of the Bundestag, said the recruitment drive is part of the armed forces modernization efforts. Such efforts have already yielded tangible results for the Navy, which is currently testing two new combat ships. The Air Force, meanwhile, is currently working with allied partners on continual integration and testing of its new aircraft which began in the aftermath of the Polish war of aggression. As part of the modernization effort, currently bases are undergoing an extensive review period to determine if upgrades are needed. In some cases, it is expected that recommendations will be made to phase out existing sites in favor of newly built facilities.
  6. "Prussia is the only member of the United Nations of the group, and therefore the only nation able to vote."
  7. Prussia would like to submit a resolution for the elimination of the European seat on the Security Council, currently held by Prussia, until such a time as there are at least three nations that are eligible for election to the seat. Prussia has become almost a de facto permanent member (sans veto) due to the continual instability in the region. With both the Athenian Federation and the Greater Russian Empire looking after the well being of stateless Europeans, and permanent members of the security council, it no longer makes sense to have a rotating European seat.
  8. I am always available for such a collaboration. :awesome:
  9. It warms my cold heart to see TWIN still kicking. As always, an enjoyable read.

Bundestag to Debate Drug Policy BERLIN- The Bundestag will debate the nation’s drug policy following an upheaval in public opinion over marijuana use. This comes as the nation gears up for election season, and some think it is a move by the chancellor to shield his party from a potential weakness on the campaign trail. While it is possible that the Bundestag could pass progressive drug policies, it would have to do so with the support of all SPD members, and a majority of the Greens which is unlikely. The CDU, especially their more conservative members in Bavaria, will object to any measure that seeks to decriminalize current banned substances. Some major cities under SPD control have passed new policies aimed at easing drug related offense for so-called “soft” drugs such as marijuana.
  11. Prussia recognizes and welcomes her new neighbors.

    The Time

CDU Popularity On the Rise BERLIN- In what should send shock waves through the ruling party, a new poll suggests the CDU is viewed more favorably ahead of election season. While it is still early to speculate on the political climate with another year and a half to go before elections there does seem to be a lack of a front-runner for the SPD whereas the CDU seems to be coalescing around four-five candidates. The nation's economy has done surprising well the past few months which is usually a boon to the ruling party, so what seems to be shifting favor to the opposition? Professor van Schultzfeld explains, "A popular Chancellor is stepping down, and there is not a deputy that seems to have much charisma ready to take over. Coupled with a lack of international events which could raise national pride, conflicts abroad, and the media has shifted into a cycle of crime and sensationalism which portrays the nation in a state of distress." If the SPD expects to win the next election, it had better find a charismatic figure able to promote the economic accomplishments of the last six years or faces another time in opposition.
  13. Government to Invest in Infrastructure STOCKHOLM - The Riksdag has allocated a billion and a half kronor to infrastructure projects following a better than expected first quarter surplus. Railways (government owned) will benefit the most from this increase in funding as modernization efforts push to include more citizens with public transit options. As expected, the government included in the infrastructure bill a provision which will change the driving side from the left to the right hand side. This change will come into effect within the next six months, as preparation for the change has been mandated for over two years. This follows an extensive study by the nation's transit authority which concluded that continuing to drive on the left hand side would be detrimental to the nation's economy as the vast majority of her neighbors, with the exception of the British isles, drives on the right.
  14. Cheers all, my benevolent orderliness shall sweep through these lands.
