[b] Article I- Sovereignty[/b] Each signatory formally recognizes the right of each alliance to exercise ultimate internal authority, in addition to possessing a monopoly on the legitimate use of physical force, within its own territory. [b]Article II- Camaraderie[/b] The membership of each signatory commit to remain civil towards each other at all times, particularly in public channels, but also in private. The signatory alliances and their member states will treat each other with as much respect and decency as they would their own. Healthy debate, constructive criticism is to be encouraged, but both parties are expected to show tact and consideration by going through appropriate channels when addressing concerns. [b]Article III- Non-Aggression[/b] No member of either signatory may participate in, support or condone military action against a member within the corresponding signatory. If a member nation of either signatory alliance is found to have done this, they will be ordered to offer peace within 24 hours of the initial notification, and pay reparations equivalent to the total damage inflicted. Defending nations are required to allow a period of 24 hours, after notifying their respective government officials of the attack, before engaging in any retaliation. At which point, retaliation is limited to the number and types of attacks received. If the attacking nation refuses to offer peace to the defending nation within the specified time frame, without credible reason explaining the lack of compliance to the articles of this treaty, the attacking nation will be expelled from their alliance. Further, the expelled nation is to be considered a rogue by both parties, and dealt with accordingly. [b] Article IV- Espionage[/b] Both signed alliances agree under no circumstances shall either signatory alliance engage in espionage against the other. Further, should a signatory alliance receive information that points towards a possible leak in another signatory’s security, this information must be shared and discussed immediately. [b] Article V- Military and Financial Assistance[/b] Should either signatory become the victim of a unprovoked external aggression, or internal subversion, the corresponding signatory is strongly encouraged, but not obligated, to provide whatever assistance possible, including but not limited to military and financial means. [b]Article VI- Amendments[/b] Any amendments to this treaty must be first discussed and agreed upon by the appropriate government officials of each party, and undergo the appropriate processes. [b]Article VII- Cancellation[/b] Termination of this pact requires a 72 hours notice. This notice is required to be given firstly via private channels. The grace period may be truncated by mutual agreement of the signatories. This treaty may not be terminated while a Declaration of War is active pertaining to one or both of the signatories. [b]Article I: Sovereignty[/b] This pact shall in no way infringe upon either signatory's sovereignty; both signatories remain distinct entities as per the terms of this agreement. [b]Article II: Peace and Friendship[/b] Both signatories agree not to conduct any acts of warfare, espionage, or other acts of aggression against the other. If this happens, the signatories shall handle the situation properly and maturely in private channels. MCXA and CCC have determined that there is more than just the normal level of respect between our two alliances, but one of an increased and more developed level that reflects the upgrade of our former treaty. This treaty is to be used in replacement of the former one to reflect those feelings and opinions. [b]Article III: Mutual Defense[/b] Any declaration of war upon either signatory is considered an act of aggression against both signatories. Both signatories agree that should the other come under attack, it is mandatory that all available aid - be it military, financial or diplomatic - will be made available should it be requested. In the event that either party declares war, either aggressively or via activation of a clause from another treaty, and therefore requests the other signatory's assistance after coming under attack, the mandatory defense is then considered optional defense. This treaty is exclusively between MCXA and CCC and as such will not automatically activate or be activated by any other treaties either signatory may have. [b] Article IV: Aid[/b] Both signatories agree that they shall endeavour to contribute financial aid to the other party in times of need that fall under Article III of this treaty. This clause can only be used if there is an overwhelming need for financial aid during a conflict that the signatories are both engaged in. [b]Article V: Intelligence[/b] Both alliances agree that there are many pillars upon which friendship is formed and key among them is communication; as such, should either alliance receive information which may relate to the wellbeing of the other, that alliance agrees to share this information within 24 hours. [b] Article VI: Termination[/b] At any time, either signatory may cancel this pact for any reason. If either alliance decides to cancel this treaty, a 48 hour private notice will be given via private channels, and the treaty will remain in place during this notice period.
