  1. Please remove Cuba, as I fear that rl stuff has made it too hard for me to think of stuff to do with it.
  2. (Lockheed CP-140 Aurora) The senate has approved a budget of 750 million NFD for the research and designs needed to make a Lockheed CP-140 Aurora, as well as a CP-140A Arcturus variant. which is a maritime patrol aircraft. As well as the aircraft, the funds are also going to be be used to design the necessary armaments (like the Mk 46 Mod V torpedoe which is a anti-submarine warfare torpedo) and avionics (Such as a Magnetic anomaly detector). Development of these planes is expected to take around six years, in which over that time test flights will be taken as needed over the Atlantic, which may begin in the next three years.
  3. classified ------------- The military adviser has advised that the our FPCON should be moved from normal, to ALPHA , as we believe that there is a reason for unrest in the provinces of Isla de la Juventud, and Guantánamo. So far, our spies do not have a specific date of when an attack will take place, but we have noticed and have reason to believe that there is suspicious activities in some areas in the two provinces.

Feel free to send over some people to show us your new grow techniques for crops as well, we will be sure to pay what we can for the help." 6. Cuba as republica de cuba please. (claim) http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?/topic/121759-republica-de-cuba/
  7. In the aftermath of the last world war, Cuba suffered greatly from various attacks, and mostly, declining trade. The economic situation proving too great at the time for the then fragile nation, with little to keep the nation stable, has lead to much violence at first. Over the years, the infrastructure across the island has fallen into decay, a result of the worsening economic prospects. As the years wore on, several families and groups have attempted to gain control of the island and of its resources, with the largest army belonging to the wealthy García family, who used diplomacy and conquest to raise to power. Over the next three years, the García family had managed to gain the resources and men that they needed to finally gain control of the island. With few in the way, the clan offered two choices, accept their rule, or attempt to leave the island. After the final battles over control of the island, the García clan and their armies remained victorious, but at the cost of further damaging the already damaged infrastructure and economy. In one of the final battles, a proud and well known general by the name of Desi García managed to take the Guantánamo Provence, which belonged to their greatest enemy, in less then a week, after managing to surround and nearly destroy entire armies by managing to take advantage of the terrain. Today in the capitol of Havana, Desi García and his family are attempting to rebuild the once great nation of Cuba, to make the island once again a place for his populace to live content, and prosperity.
  8. With the first round of fighting between the two countries that Newfoundland&Labrador has traditionally been friendly with, our country was maintaining our neutral policies and hoped for the best. With the potential of a ceasefire between Faraway and the American Commonwealth, the people and government of Newfoundland&Labrador was celebrating the belief that peace was on its way. However, as rumors and word of a second conflict came out, it was realized that it may be more difficult then originally thought. Holding an emergency meeting, the first in several years and the second that had to deal with a war, the government has decided what it will do about the conflict that is otherwise so close to its boarders. The following statement has been released by the government of Newfoundland&Labrador concerning the current North American Conflict. "As les Républiques de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador understands the conflicts that have arisen in North America, and sympathizes with those whose lives were lost in Ottawa, we do not believe that war is the answer, and as such, we must condemn the break in the armistice that was otherwise agreed upon by the American Commonwealth, and Faraway. As we do not believe that the second conflict, much less the first, was necessary, and to prevent us from being drawn into their conflict, we will be closing our land and sea boarders to both the American Commonwealth, and Faraway as well as issuing a trade embargo for both parties involved in the fighting for the duration of the war. For those who are affected by the current conflict in North America, we will gladly take in those who are refugees from either the American Commonwealth, or Faraway, who will be be taken in by our boarder patrol and coast guard and will be given food, shelter, and any other necessities of life. We hope that both parties will quickly and eventually find a peaceful end to their conflict, and hope for a more peaceful North America for us all to live in." ~~ Minister of Foreign affairs- Catherine Martin ~~President Robert Mason
  9. The house of representatives has approved nearly 10 billion NFD for the construction, and maintenance of a OTH radar system, that should be completed within the next five years. This system will extend across both the island of Newfoundland, and the mainland of Labrador. This RADAR system is made to detect most kinds of aircraft, and missiles, and as such will also be connected to our main SDI project. (Sea-Based X-Band Radar) Also in development (To the tune of almost 20 billion NFD that was recently approved for this project). is a Sea-based X-band Radar. Six are currently being made, with two being sent to the Labrador sea, and the other four being in the Atlantic Ocean near the island of Newfoundland.(Two east and two south of Newfoundland). These sea based radar nodes be used to help monitor our Atlantic and Labrador sea waters. (Project should also be completed in around six years.)
  10. Election results for the 16th session for the House of representatives for our republic are in; Newfoundland&Labrador Socialist Party: 78 seats Newfoundland&Labrador First Party: 73 New States Party: 30 Labrador Party: 16 Greens party: 5 Independents: 15 With what little that has happened in the house, it was expected that the smaller parties are to gain more seats. Most of the gridlock appears to be from a shifting of ideologies in the "Newfoundland&Labrador Socialist Party", and the "Newfoundland&Labrador First Party", with the later wanting to be more isolationist, and the former wanting to be less so. Some other problems are taxes, and a disagreement on some of the laws and acts that some want passed.
  11. With the elections over the past couple of weeks now over, the third president of Newfoundland&Labrador is Robert Mason! With a 65% of the popular vote, Robert Mason will become our new president starting next month, when he plans to speak to the people to thank them for electing him. We at the Newfoundland News Table wish our newest president the best of luck in running our fine republic. Also in the news, two months from now will be the 16th election for the 16th session for the House of representatives of Newfoundland&Labrador.
  12. Elections in the republic will begin next week for the fifth presidential election, for our third president. Even though our latest president, Françoise Rode, has only done a part of what he said he would do, it is still believed that the socialist party will win the next race. Three months after the presidential elections, and the elections for those wishing for a seat in the senate will come. With the gridlock over some domestic and foreign policy issues, it is expected that the New States Party and some independents will gain more seats during the next couple of elections, with the Newfoundland&Labrador Socialist Party, and the Newfoundland&Labrador First Party expected to lose some more of their seats. The Labrador party is expected to stay about the same, as most of their support comes from those living in the region of Labrador.
  13. After searching for new qualified advisers, president Françoise Rode has named the five new advisers that will replace those who recently retired. List of new advisers, Minister of defense- William Ortiz Minister of transportation- Isabella Poulsen Military adviser- John Walker Ministry of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development- Océane Lefèvre Ministry of Municipal Affairs- Candice Ast The new advisers will begin their duties beginning tomorrow.
  14. After serving nearly 18 years of being advisers, the following advisers have recently stated that they wish to retire: Minister of defense- Terry French Minister of transportation- Tom Hedderson Military adviser- Felix Collins Ministry of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development- Mary Dawe Ministry of Municipal Affairs- Andrew Pike The President is currently working with the Minister of general domestic affairs, Kathy Dunderdale, on finding new people who will able to fill in the soon vacant positions.
  15. After nearly a year sine Labrador was re-annexed into Newfoundland, the governments of the two regions decided that our nation should have a new name to reflect both our heritage, and culture. After a weeks of debate of what our nation should be renamed to, it was finally voted, with 183 of 200 votes, that our nation's name shall be changed to "Républiques de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador", which translates (from French) to "Republic of Newfoundland and Labrador:. The name was brought up by someone from the Newfoundland and Labrador First Party, and the name was put to the vote a couple days ago. As our nation has a French history, and some of their culture, the government figured that they should have a name to reflect that.
