1. Vice Autarch Aldric Konstantin Vidar sent prior notice that he would be attending, and flew out from Welthaupstadt Tiflis after ensuring all of his affairs were in order. He ultimately arrived at the party fashionably late, along with his military adviser General Henrik Gebhard, personal friend Lieutenant General Bastian Jochem, who had fled to the GNED after the fall of his home nation of Rhodes, and his primary political adviser Maximilian Anselm. Aldric would be garbed in a simple black suit with a white shirt and red tie, and Maximilian was similarly dressed, but with a blue shirt and black tie; Henrik and Bastian both wore their uniforms. Bastian had elected to pin his old Rhodean insignias to his. Each were armed with a 9mm handgun under their jackets. If they were confiscated at the gate, they would reluctantly hand them over, but Aldric would take the ammunition out of it, telling the guard that he would shoot himself in the foot otherwise. They boarded the relatively empty ferry on the mainland to reach the island. Bastian and Henrik entered an animated conversation on artillery tactics, while Aldric and Maximilian leaned over the side and watched the island near. "Politics," Aldric said quietly, derisively. "What's that, sir?" Maximilian asked, looking over at him. "I preferred working in the shadows," Aldric replied, turning around and propping his elbows up on the railing. "Away from the prying eyes of the world's political elite, influencing and not being influenced, controlling others and not having to control myself. It was freedom, Maximilian, one that I no longer have." "Then why'd you accept the Autarch's offer, sir?" his adviser asked. Aldric snorted. "What choice did I have? I'd been bribing and puppeteering his governors. It was either acceptance or a bullet, and I prefer not having a 9mm lodged in my brain." "But you've done a mighty fine job as VA, sir," Maximilian offered. The vice autarch glanced at him. "Max, I swear to God, if you don't stop calling me 'sir' before we reach the shore, I will knock you on your ass in front of every leader you can name." "Sorry," Maximilian muttered. "What may I call you, then?" "I do have a name, you realize." Maximilian frowned. "Okay...Aldric?" "There you go," Aldric grinned, standing up straight as the ferry reached its destination. "Come on." He walked briskly between Bastian and Henrik, saying, "Tea party's over, generals, let's go." Aldric jumped onto the dock, retinue in tow, and walked toward the welcome party, a smile on his face. "Good evening," he said. "Prime Minister Whittaker, I presume? I am Aldric Vidar, vice autarch of the GNED. Mr. Visari sends his regrets that he may not attend personally." The last statement was crap; Aldric doubted Visari gave a damn about meaningless soirees like this.
 2. SIC: Vice Autarch Aldric Vidar spent the first weeks after his appointment inspecting the defenses of the Caucasus and declared that they were great, but improvable, and he held a philosophy of 'if it can be made better, make it better,' he funneled spending into coastal defenses along the Black Sea and Sea of Azov. Sta-12 rifles (with five 50-round helical mags), P2000 pistols (with three 13-round mags), four HE grenades, and XE-101 combat uniforms were issued to the soldiers toward the end of training, and the surplus went into storage. 1,100 Arca IV MBTs and 1,100 BMP-5 APCs have been constructed and are on standby. 550 Smersk M-2000 MRLSs, 275 SdKfz 124 howitzers, and 275 G17 mortars were also built and deployed in army bases around the district until the entire army district was fully trained and organized. Fifteen squadrons each of Lu-65s, Lu-67s, GLI-133s, and Blitzes constructed and deployed in airbases at Tbilisi, Baku, Yerevan, Batumi, Kerch, and Makhachkala. Vidar also ordered the construction of caches throughout the Caucasus Mountains, wherein he would store stockpiles of combat armor, ammunition, weaponry, artillery, and armor. Billions of rounds of ammunition and hundreds of thousands of artillery shells were manufactured and stashed in these caches. Each cache would be guarded by laser-eye scanners and explosive triggers. The explosives would trigger if an incorrect eye scan or forced entry are detected, and destroy anything in the doorway without disturbing anything beyond the heavy steel doors.
 3. "The Greater Nordic Empire of Dalmatia recognizes the existence of the Free State of Torun." -Vice Autarch Aldric Vidar
 4. Please mark Rhodes as part of the Athenian Federation again.
 5. Aldric Konstantin Vidar was a political leader in the Greater Nordic Empire, but unlike the typical Nordic politician. Vidar tended to revile public office, preferring to implement his policies from the shadows, through puppets in the local government. The Nordic provinces of Georgien, Armenien, Aserbaidschan, and Caucasian Russland each had a Moff appointed to it, and Vidar had seen to it that each was swung over to his favor; they, like he, remained loyal to Visari and the Empire, but their governance was strongly influenced by Vidar's ideas and purse. Under his shadow-rule, the four provinces that formed the heartland of what had once been the Kingdom of Caucasia had prospered, and grown even more loyal to the Autarch and the empire. Enforcement of educational policies was strengthened, a series of legislation on local healthcare had been passed, and outright resentment towards the empire had been all but removed. A series of local militias had been established, numbering just over 90,000 volunteers, with rudimentary training, armor and artillery, though their equipment was outdated due to a lack of central government support. With the GNED's extensive security agencies, it was inevitable that Vidar's ring would be discovered, especially with the seat of government, Welthaupstadt Tiflis, still referred to as Tbilisi in many parts of the area, located in the area, but it was an inevitability that he delayed to the extent of his pocketbook, hiring professionals and criminals to keep his shady dealings in the dark. He rarely made an appearance in public, and if he did, he remained as low-key as possible. Ultimately, Autarch Visari was made aware of Vidar's toying with his officials, and when Nordic soldiers knocked on his doorstep late one night, Vidar was sure that his life had come to an end. When he answered the door, he was told, to his complete shock, that the autarch wished to see him, and was led respectfully to a limousine with darkened windows, and taken from his home in Baku to the international airport, where he boarded a government-owned jet and was flown to Welthaupstadt Tiflis. Upon arrival, Vidar was loaded up into another darkened limo, and taken on a shorter ride through the empire's crown jewel to Visari Palace. He was led inside under armed guard, and taken before Autarch Michael Visari, who, instead of executing Vidar, recognized his potential and skill, and offered him the position of Vice Autarch, with a degree of autonomy over the old Caucasian heartland. Completely taken aback, and with really no room to negotiate, Vidar accepted the offer. Vidar returned to Baku, and named the city the capital of the Greater Nordic State of Caucasia, which would be the official name for the four provinces in the Caucasus region. In his first acts as Vice Autarch, Vidar incorporated the provincial militias into the Greater Nordic Imperial Army, giving them the standard training and equipment of the rest of the military, and established the Caucasian Military Command as a subordinate branch of the Nordic military command structure.

Article I. Non-Aggression It is understood that this treaty is signed for the full prosperity of both signatory alliances and, as such, neither TriCom nor KR shall engage in any acts of aggression towards each other. 8. Dear Generalissimo, It has come to my attention that you're vaguely considering alliances to join. When this reached my attention, I began contemplating the effects of Generalissimo, Generalissimo of Procinctia, on the Trilateral Commission, and vice versa, and came to the conclusion that it could only be good. TriCom is a growing alliance, with active leadership, and a number of roleplayers within the community. I'd be willing to answer any questions you have. Sincerely, Chairman Drake of the Trilateral Commission
 9. "The USR supports our German friends. Too long, Denmark has been a major antagonist against efforts for European peace and cooperation. Their actions have always contradicted their words." -Chairman James Drake
 10. "The Union of Slavic Republics recognizes the United Federation of the East and confirms that the Sino-Slavic alliance will transfer to it." -Chairman James Drake
 11. I like Triyun's aircraft idea, and I think that the naval idea has potential. By putting in just 5% more effort, you can make your RP experience infinitely more creative and entertaining for all involved. For those that think this is complex or hate change, think of this: when sound-movies came out, many fans of the old silent films didn't think these 'talkies' would last, and that silent films were better. Now look at the TV and decide if you like NCIS better with or without sound. It might be hard to adjust at first, but it'll be worth it.
 12. "War is hell. Any beliefs otherwise are foolish and unfounded. Even those who do not actively partake in a war, be they a soldier or a nation, are drained by the effort. "Furthermore, all powers that have spheres of influence over the area in question are either defunct or rebuilding. Scotland has collapsed, France is rebuilding from war, Taeunas is...rather unresponsive, and Athens has already made a stand. All other regional powers are too weak to stand a chance against J Andres; if they declared war, they would only be opening themselves up as new colonies for the Americans. "As for the other powers, they have their own reasons, as well. Germany, as above stated, does not view the Iberian Peninsula and British Isles as part of their sphere of influence, and is also rebuilding from a massive war that destroyed a large part of their economic sectors. The USR is allied to J Andres, and I'll be damned if I put land before a friend. Slavorussia is preoccupied in Finland, and had previously committed large numbers of their military to the Franco-German War. The Baltic states were tied down by the fact that Denmark once closed their straits to military vessels, making large-scale troop or naval transfers nigh impossible. And I'm not even aware of every states internal affairs at the time. I do not presume to be aware, and I suggest that you do likewise. "Don't speak when you have no real understanding of the situation. You know only the surface of Europe's current state of affairs. By claiming to know what you don't, you only succeed in making yourself look ignorant." -Chairman James Drake
 13.
"Of course." Claire said getting up from her chair and walking over to the small shelf to pour two glasses of wine for herself and for Drake. Setting them down, she took a sip to wet her lips and continued on with the conversation and upon his offering of one of the cigars, she took one from the case. "Thank you, very much Monsieur." She said lighting it after finishing her cigarette and enjoying the flavor of the tobacco from the first puff. "In truth I'm not a big smoker, but this is very good, at least one thing we have in common then." She chuckled and placed it between her fingers.
James nodded his thanks and smiled as he accepted the glass of wine from Claire. "And I'm not a big drinker," he replied. "Any alcohol I have in my refrigerator is promptly mooched by one of my guests. That's a technical term, by the way." He took a sip of wine and took his time before replying. "Exquisite," he said. "Pinot Noir is one of the few wines I can tolerate."
"Well like I said, if there is anything I can do to alleviate the tension between the USR, Isara, and Vauleyo-Buryatia I would be happy to lend my services. Most wars unfortunately today cause much more death than they do in the past, or worse, start the ball into leading into World War. Both of which I would like to prevent for France and the World. Other than that, I would imagine the Franco-Slavic friendship will be one that can build over time, through general European and Mediterranean politics. We have always been friendly with Athens and are starting to build relations with the Rebel Army. So perhaps it is just the destiny of our two states to come closer together from our already established alliances." She raised her glass. "And a slowly built friendship, tested over time, is much better than one rushed to be signed on a piece of paper."
James raised his glass in return. "Gods willing, that will soon be a reality and not just possibility."
 14.
"Well she might not have been a responsible governor." Claire said softly. "But she was a good person, if you can believe it, she gave her life so that war would end. Perhaps she realized the foolishness of her actions before it was too late, I don't really know. But I was her friend and I was there when she died, and I restored the republic as her last wishes." She took a drag of her cigarette and looked back up at the Chairman, it was starting to darken outside and so she leaned over and adjusted a small lamp to give them both more light to talk over.
"Good person or bad person, she caused the death and displacement of millions," James said, bluntly. "She may have ended the war, but she also started it. I suppose we can be glad she came to her senses before artillery fired upon Paris." He finished his cigar and ground it out in the ashtray. He was aware what he'd just said could be viewed as 'mean,' but he was a man who spoke his mind.
"As to your neighbors, Vaulyo-Buryatia has always been one of France's closest allies though nothing I have seen shows any signs of anti-Slavic movement. But perhaps if the situation would become worsened, I would be able to talk to the Imperator about relations, he is actually a very enlightened individual. I met him when he came to Versailles a few years ago. As to Isara, I spoke with a General Ivanovich only a few days ago, she said that there was tension between your nation and her own, though getting both sides of the story makes the situation much easier to understand. If any problems would arise between your people and Isara in the future, France would be happy to mediate and I think the involvement in Eastern European and Central Asian Politics would do good for the Republic."
"For an enlightened individual, the Imperator seems content to ignore much of the world. Where he could have loyal, strong allies, he instead chooses to place a near-blanket ban on relations with Europeans. Enlightened is not an accurate description for him, with those policies, no offense intended. As for the Isarans...war will only break out if they deliberately provoke it. They seem to be trying to poke at us. Our satellites and intelligence picked up a recent missile test, far too close to the Caspian coast for our comfort. I'd rather not have other nations firing missiles at that sea. Many Slavs depend on it for their income. There's a rather lucrative caviar trade located there, and military tests even nearby could decrease their income substantially."
His referral as France as a time-bomb hurt her for a moment, but there was no reason to get defensive. Drake was right and his perspective of the Empire from on the other side of Europe could not have been more true. "Well I think friendly all comes down to how well leaders can discuss issues with each other. I would consider us friendly and both of respectful to ourselves and our respected countries. These things I know full well take time, but I am more than willing to spend the time so long as my counterpart in this conversation, you Monsieur is willing to return it." She smiled. "Could I also interest you in a glass of Pinot Noir, I enjoy it when I smoke, perhaps the same for you Monsieur Drake?"
"Perhaps," James said. "And yes, I suppose I could use a drink." He opened the cigar case and took another cigar out. "If I may, I'd recommend you try one of these. Cigarettes are much more processed, they don't allow the flavor of the tobacco to surface. But I suppose this is an acquired taste."
