  1. @ Grand Emperor Brian the problem with making it so that aid can be uncovered by spying on the receiver is that it makes it far too risky for the senders. The risk vs reward is far too great I risk my nation and entire alliance to provide some nation with the ability to slightly annoy my enemies. If anyone is going to be willing to take that risk the odds of the latter happening need to be extremely lower than the odds of the former. On the other hand if you can only uncover secret aid by spying on the sender as long as I'm am good about hiding my hatred they would have to just happen to find my nation in a random sweep in order to discover me. @ Muffasamini making it so large alliances are not accountable for their actions is exactly the point! The effect of 3m is insignificant to many nations in the game so it's not like this will allow huge wars to drag on for long periods of time ultimately even those being funded will only be able to attack the noobier nations. If necessary the amount of secret aid that can be sent could be lowered to perhaps 2m or so that it could be less damaging but again we have to take into account risk vs reward we are talking about very high risk for rather low reward. This idea of secret aid is also more realistic. Just the other day in my history class we were talking about the Thirty Years War and how the french Catholics were aiding the Protestants in secret in order to weaken the power of the Holy Roman Emperor without involving their military in the war. Also tech deals are very bad for this game they make it virtually impossible for smaller nations to catch larger ones. For example if a new nation were to be created today and have every single aid slot filled with free 50 tech it would take it nearly 1.5 years to catch me assuming i never did another tech deal in my life. When you consider that of course i would continue dealing tech the fact of the matter is I will never be caught. In order to reverse this we need to discontinue tech dealing by making it so that tech cannot be aided and create a way to get rid of the tech advantage the older nations have, such as making a very nice wonder set that costs 1k tech per wonder to purchase. So that while larger nations could potentially hold onto their tech for the advantage the nations willing to drop the tech in order to get the wonders would have a significant economic bonus that would at least give them the possibility to catch up. I can assure you that if i were to discover cybernations today there is no way i would play the game. I find enjoyment by trying to become the top dog in a game, in cn it is no longer possible for a newcomer to do that. -Veritas
  2. So RL = Real Life but what pray tell is Real Life
  3. What if we were to make it so that i couldn't be uncovered by spying on the nation receiving the aid but rather by spying on the nation that's giving it. That way in order to discover who was aiding your enemies you'd either have to infiltrate their alliance and see who sends you aid or you would have to do general sweeps which could cause some major conflict due to trust issues. -Veritas
  4. Yes secret aid is the way to go i believe, but i think that every single aid slot should be secret it's more realistic. I also would make it so this aid could not be uncovered by spies. What this would do is make it so that real spies, as in actual players, would need to infiltrate the opposing alliances to find out who was sending them aid. It would allow someone to fight an alliance in secret merely by supporting their enemies without as much fear of repercussion. This happens in real life so there is no reason why it shouldn't happen in cybernations. To further prevent stagnation i would recommend making it so tech can no longer be sent in aid packages. Yes i realize this would destroy the tech market but the current system allows the stronger nations to grow at an equal rate to the medium sized nations effectively making it so the mediums can never catch up. In order to compensate for the extreme tech advantage the stronger nations already have a group of nice wonders would need to be created that actually required tech to purchase. Imagine if you had 10 wonders that each cost 1k tech. The nations with 10k tech would of course want to purchase these wonders but they would be forced to pay much larger sums to get them as 1k tech costs a heck of a lot more when you have 10k tech than when you have 2k. Now you may think that this would decrease the ability for new nations to grow but I would have to disagree. The fact of the matter is that 3m is a very small sum to a large number of nations in the game. Because of this most people would have no problem sending out aid packages to new alliance members for no other reason than to see their alliance grow. I think tech deals actually decrease the amount of aid that gets sent to new nations as those active stronger nations who care about rankings cannot afford to waste the aid slots sending money to noobies for free because they will fall behind when it comes to tech. If aid slots were no longer an issue for tech dealers they would be free to use those aid slots to help alliance mates grow. Combine all this together and you get top tier nations where growth costs a fortune and where skill in managing your funds plays a bigger role than just how long you've been spamming tech deals. And you also get a large number of nations with aid slots to spare whether it be for aiding the enemies of ones enemy or for building up your alliance. Sorry for the text wall, but thanks for reading. -Veritas
  5. Holy crap does anybody even read the OP before making their own post sheesh. I don't know what to tell you raskull you may have stumbled on to something here we'll have to find someone buying the UHC and get them to do a before and after. -Veritas
  6. I personally don't expect much from my alliance. Keep me out of wars and i'll be happy, a decent supply of tech sellers wouldn't be so bad either. Other than that I don't expect anything from my alliance. What are you actually expecting from your alliance though? -Veritas
  7. For a nation with 5,500 inf. the SSS would be a better first wonder than the stock market. The stock market is only better as a first wonder because it's 10m cheaper but usually people only have around 4k inf when the start buying wonders. -Veritas
  8. Not really sure if this is the right place for this but my advice is just ignore him. Oh and "should you have any further concerns, please feel free to contact me or my lawyer " lawyer? give me a break. Remember this is the internet. -Veritas
  9. What with all the rubber hate. That 20% land bonus is nothing to scoff at. Think i'm kidding? Guess again that 20% more land = about over 2000 more citizens for me not to mention the inf. purchase reduction, and even more importantly for me the land purchasing cost reduction. You could definitely do worse than aluminum rubber this is my setup and i've made it into the top 10 (a while back i coulda been #1 if i had maxed my military) and rubber fits nicely into the 5br combo which is nearly as good as the 3br espeicially for new nations doing tech deals (due to a better decrease in inf. costs). I will agree that a rubber/lead combo is pretty nasty though. -Veritas
  10. My ration is about 46% at 18700 inf. Keep in mind i maintain an extremely limited military though. I'm still netting 21m so even if my ratio is higher i still net a very nice amount, which means that purchasing things like a navy, nukes, etc... is relatively less expensive. I'm not interested in war whatsoever so there was really no reason for me to stop buying inf. until i hit my wall (it was at about 18,500 inf but somewhere somehow something changed without me knowing and it's now about 19,100). I would recommend at least getting enough inf. so that you can purchase all the economic wonders but after that there is really no point in buying more unless you just want a higher ranking. -Veritas
  11. Yeah I have to agree some of these setups are marked as poor when they will fit in quite nicely with good combos.
  12. DRA ftw. Tech is where it's at baby =D.
  13. Wait you believe Jesus is a myth o.O. I'm seriously hoping you mean you don't believe his claim of being god and not that you believe the person did not exist.
  14. Like i said earlier it depends on how you play but if you are attempting to reach top rankings DRA should be your first wonder. It doesn't matter if it will take you forever to max out inf. sooner or later you will and it's not like you're going to be in top 25 overnight anyway. Also i never received a penny in aid you don't need the DRA to get more free money you need it for those tech deals, i know i keep saying that but trust me tech is the #1 most important thing because it's the only thing you can't get by just playing it smart staying out of war and letting everyone else waste their cash on military while you buy land and inf. Oh and correction i'm #6 while maintaining no navy very limited military and no nukes when i pretty much gave up on cn about 4 months ago i was the #1 nation in the game several k ns above bubbler. That is i would have been if i ever was silly enough to waste all that money on inflating my ns with military xD. -Veritas P.S. I used to donate regularly (before i got bored) but i have never sold a donation or recieved any cash aid.
