Sources announced today that the Holy Imperium of Man has implemented research into stem-cells which allows fat cells to be transformed into pluripotent cells capable of being remanufactured into various other forms of human cell with the express intent of prolonging life. The technology has already allowed Imperial Scientists to graft cells onto gaping wounds and thinning cardiac muscle layers with significant success. Trials with paralysis patients are currently ongoing.

In other news, the Imperium has finally gotten around to annexing the islands off the coast of Brazil which have as-yet gone unnoticed. Various naval bases and facilities along with their supporting towns are sprouting up among the various islands of Trindade and Martim Vaz, Saint Peter and Saint Paul's archipelago, the Rocas Atoll, and Fernando de Noronha. These zones are marked as primarily military bases, with a secondary function as fishing outposts.

---

Improvements on jet technology have yielded significant results, with up to 15 percent less fuel used and 35 percent less carbon emissions. The secret? Imperial Engineers have patented a new design with gears between the fan and turbine, allowing the two to turn at different rates in order to improve efficiency. The fan moves slow, shoving air into the fast-acting turbine.

---

Finally, the military budget of the Imperium has received another boost in what this reporter anticipates as the last push towards the next-generation of weaponry.
