Well, looks like one of the shooters is named Malik Hassan, so it seems true.
And edikroma is right. For an incident this big, there will be scapegoating and blame, and heavy criticism of whatever actions Obama/[insert politician here] does or doesn't take. I'd call it a 50% chance that Fox News will either run something blaming this on Obama, or something implying his handling of the incident has let down America.

I'm not trying to bring politucally biassed [sic] bull into this. I'm just wondering if the media has picked up the story and started to run with it. Seriously...how long do you think it's going to be before CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc start jumping to conclusions about the incident? How long before the media itself starts pointing fingers?
Come on, guys...don't be so naive. If this had happened during Bush's term (remember Fort Dix?), the media would have done the same... just the sides would have switched.

No, I doubt there will be direct blame. That's why I mentioned blame for handling. Did Obama mention the shooting in his speech early enough? What did he say beforehand, is he implying that was more important than this tragedy? Did he respond quickly enough in the first place? How was the scheduling for the speech? And so on.
Tragedies = political footballs. It's been a fact since even before 9-11. I would be delighted if this was untouched by such things, I'm just too cynical to believe it'll happen.

It's worth noting that he's a Medical Doctor which is surprising in itself I suppose, but also that he entered the service at an advanced rank (typically 0-3, I think) and wouldn't have gone through the same military training, etc, that line officers do.

I don't want to speculate on motive without an investigation, however I see two possible motives, either mental illness of some sort (PTSD, etc.) which a psychiatrist could definitely experience, especially because their job is to sit down and listen to all the !@#$ our soldiers must go through. The other motive is, either way, some deep hatred towards the military.

It is a terrible incident, and condolences go out to the families of the slain soldiers in the shooting. Perhaps more psychologists (not psychiatrists, they're mostly useless and provide only meds) are needed here at home near the army bases to assist soldiers with the problems they acquire from serving overseas, in order to prevent any such military mental breakdowns in the future. It wouldn't be the first time an ex-soldier went ape!@#$, though, and that is unfortunate and indicative of the lack of mental health care for soldiers in our army.
Who were his two accomplices? He didn't do this alone. Were they other soldiers?
