For some reason, I have the feeling I am going to be disappointed. While another side tells me it looks decently put together.

Thoughts? Usually gamer movies fail, despite a selected few.
Arrnea
Firstly, Disney.
Second, Jerry Bruckheimer (so expect them to hit the visual effects buttons, HARD).

As for the trailer itself, I was instantly and pervasively reminded of The Scorpion King. Anyone else feel the same way?

I'll probably get it out on DVD if I hear good reviews.
Cakeman32
Just from what I can see from the trailer the fight sings look really cheesy. I'll probably pass on seeing it.
edikroma
Wait...why is Jake Gyllenhaal playing the part of the prince?
Mustakrakish II
Gyllenhaal works good for the prince i think...at least kinda of.

I still think I'll pass on the movie, for the sole fact I feel like it'll just be Pirates of the Caribbean, but in the desert.
The AUT
Another movie with British accents and one centered around a girl. Yet another good concept about to be ruined when hitting the screen.

No thank you.

Disney..
That pisses me off. smile.gif

Say what you will about Disney, they do quality. Maybe not good, but quality, anyways.

Basically, if anyone was gonna do PoP, I'm glad it's Disney and not Uwe Boll

Dunno how he managed to get that movie. I hope he burns in the deepest pits of gaming hell.

Neither do I...seriously. There were rumors that he had a chance to pick up Metal Gear Solid...but the creators said they would never work with him. So, obviously, creators/studios/companies have decided not to let him ruin their stories...

QUOTE
When rumors surfaced that Boll had expressed interest in a Metal Gear Solid movie, and claimed to have been given a script to read, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima responded in his audioblog HIDECHAN, "Absolutely not! I don't know why Uwe Boll is even talking about this kind of thing. We've never talked to him. It's impossible that we'd ever do a movie with him."[15] Boll later stated that he only thought he was doing the film because he was tricked by someone named Scithe who claimed to work for Konami.

*sniff* I remember when my dad bought the original game for our first computer back in the early 90's, I was only 3-4. We played it together so often.

I am so utterly tired of hearing about how nothing out of Disney can be for audiences older than ten.

Disney put out some good !@#$. I don't know why people don't like them.
Dennis Von Bremen
I'll probably watch it, looks cool.
Bob Ilyani
Video Game Movies ususally aren't good. Will pass on this one.
Carrick
I didn't realize Persians were white.

Gemma Arterton is gorgeous though.

Considering they did Alladin, I'd say they fit for a Prince of Persia movie. smile.gif

Will be interesting if this is good. Donnie Darko as the Prince. hah.

Don't you know? Middle Eastern characters can't be played by Middle Eastern actors, that would be wrong. Must give all roles to Whites.

Oh boy this prejudice is killing me.

Disney is simply the face of a larger body. Did you know they were behind other movies, such as No Country for Old Men?

I know Arabic actors are incapable of speaking English, so let's get some British/American ones. That should make it all better.

And before you're asking who could possibly be a Persian actor? They could've easily casted Maz Jobrani to play the role.

But hey, whatever, another movie made by you know who for you know who!

Maz Jobrani is a comedian.

He is also an actor. Of course he's only played Arab/terrorist roles in movies, funny how a White person didn't play that role too? Remember in 300 how they demonized the Persians, why weren't they shown as White people then?

Guess the good stuff like being a Prince of Persia is reserved. Good to know.

Either way I won't further drag this thread in the mud, but I'm starting to get really, really pissed off with the way people are starting to depict things in movies and how oblivious you guys (subjective term) are to it.

They could have just chosen a guy with a better tan. dry.gif

Of course. That is what I was saying, obviously.

They could have done a lot of things.

Another movie made by Voldemort for Voldemort?

Didn't you know? The movie-making industry is racist, as is clearly displayed by your one movie example; they all hate anyone not white, and their secret objective is to keep any non-whites down.

We made sure not to get the memo to you, because you're not a part of the totalitarian scheme.

Seriously, directors hire actors based on acting ability, not skin tone. Maz is pretty awesome, but to the director, this guy was better.
Mustakrakish II
To my understanding Greeks are lighter skinned than Persians. And 300 was also filmed in front of a green screen in a studio in hollywood, not on location. So its understandable to have a white man acting it it. (That and the Persian kind at the time of Thermopylae was pretty evil)

And from my understanding, in the games (i never played the first trilogy) did the prince even have a thick Arabian accent, if he had one at all?

Not really. I remember it being somewhat generic exotic, or maybe a Greek accent.

No, he was played by an actor who used a British accent. This was changed for the second game when he became ridiculously violent, and then changed back for the third title.
