I honestly wasn't sure if this belonged in the Water Cooler or the Boiler Room...but...

I don't know if you guys have been keeping track of this strange case coming out of Cleveland, Ohio. Back on October 20th, emergency personnel responded to a 911 call about a naked woman falling out a 2nd story window. When they arrived at the home of Anthony Sowell, they treated the victim, who refused to talk about the "accident". Police investigation of the home found the decomposing bodies of four women inside, and a fifth outside (The investigation was set off due to accusations by a woman back in September that Sowell had assaulted and raped her. ). Since then, they have found more buried outside in the yard as well as remains in the basement. Currently, the body count is at 11...

Strangely, authorities had checked on Sowell from time to time, as he is a sex offender. The last check came late September, and authorities say that there was nothing wrong...even though neighbors claim the smell around the home used to be pretty bad. How the heck did they miss this? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that they probably thought it was just some dead animal or something...

Aside from being really friggin creepy, it is important to know that Sowell has been convicted of rape. In fact, he was in jail from 1990 to 2005. I guess something to debate is the ability to rehabilitate criminals in jail.

I usually try to steer clear of reading about the intricate details of disturbing stories such as this, because it isn't good for the psyche. I will say that there do exist people who are pathologically inclined to criminal behavior, and for whom there is no known cure that might pacify them. For such people the best you can do is to permanently remove them from society and prevent them from harming anyone else.
