You may have heard of us. You may not have. Either way, we're here to tell you a few things about us and why you should join Aos Si.

*Do you prefer a close knit, level-headed community than one more concerned about war, politics, and growing?

*Do you like small, more intimate alliances than one where you're just another number?

*Do you want to be a part of something new and help it grow to something great?

*Do u liek mudkipz?

If you've answered yes to any of these questions, Aos Si is what you're looking for, my friend! We're a new alliance on brown, but one that has a lot of promise, and a great future ahead of her. But what we're missing is the most essential and crucial piece of the puzzle.

YOU!

Here's our charter, to give you a little taste of what we're all about:

QUOTE

Annala Aos Sí

Preamble -
Descended from Nemed and the Tuatha Dé Danann, our forefathers came from four northern cities: Falias, Gorias, Murias and Finwe. They arrived and went to battle against the Fir Bolg. After their victory they settled on the coast of Ériu. However they were beaten in a third and final battle, and exiled underground into the Sidhe mounds. There we are banished, awaiting the right time to return to the light and the green hills of Ireland...

Article I -
We are an exclusive people, and shall not accept just any person that wishes to be a part of us. The quest to become a part of Aos Sí is a long and tedious one. Not everyone will make it through and those that don't will not be permitted to go through the quest again until such a time we deem them ready.

Article II -
The Trí Dé Dána are the sovereign leaders of our people. As the sovereign leaders, they have the final authority on all matters, and can create or remove any position as they please. Some actions, such as declarations of war and treaty ratification require a 3/3 in favor of the action. The Trí Dé Dána serve until resignation, at which point the remaining shall appoint a new person.

Article III -
The people of Aos Sí are known as Daoine Sídhe and they have all the privileges that come with such an honor. All those who passed the quest and are admitted shall be considered Daoine Sídhe until such a time one of the Trí Dé Dána or the community of Aos Sí cast them out on a majority vote. If such a time comes, the person cast out shall not be allowed to return.

Article IV -
The Annala Aos Sí shall be amended as the Trí Dé Dána see fit. A majority of the Daoine Sídhe and 2/3 of the Trí Dé Dána are needed to pass the amendment.

We're not giving up on this thing without a fight. And we need you to help us make this happen. Don't hesitate on that thought; come check us out! I promise you'll like what you find. Feel free to ask questions of us on our forums and our IRC channel. We're waiting!

Hi, I'm Rep

I am 1 of the Joint MoDs of Aos Si, yes there are 2 of us. Its part of our military structure. At Aos Si we plan on making a top notch military staff. We can not do this without Rahl's missing puzzle piece. You the Member. The eventual goal is to have all members of Aos Si go through and pass my upcoming Officer's Academy. This Academy will teach even the biggest n00b to military operations how to be a quick effective Officer.

Members of my Military, or I should say Our Military, hai 2 Burger, will be expected to act with the utmost respect for others, their superiors (IC) etc. OOC character respect and situations are not my problem, though i would wish this be kept to a minimum.

We are a military that will promote from within its ranks by meritocracy, the better things you do, the more dedication you show, the more chance you have of moving up. A non-milcom member with no training can not take the place of a trained officer, so promotions only occur within rank or using already trained officers awaiting jobs.

To be an officer in our military you will have to go through the Officers Academy, there are no exceptions to this rule unless you come with a large military experience background.

Brotherhood, Sisterhood, To share blood with one another through thick and thin, through boredom and through war, our Officers should always stick together.

It is my understanding that the best offense, is a good defense, and so this is what we will follow.

This is my small summary of Our military. For those of you who want to be a part of a military ready and willing to train any and all members to max effectiveness, this is the Alliance for you.

To give a little background information on our theme, here's some excerpts I've pulled from the wiki:

QUOTE
In Irish mythology, the aos sí (Irish pronunciation: [iːs ˈʃiː], older form aes sídhe [eːs ˈʃiːə]) are a powerful, supernatural race comparable to the fairies or elves. They are variously believed to live underground in the fairy mounds, across the western sea, or in an invisible world that coexists with the world of humans. This world is described in the Book of Invasions (Book of Leinster) as a parallel universe in which the aos sí walk amongst the living.

In the Irish language, aos sí means "people of the mounds". In Irish literature they are also referred to as the daoine sídhe ("deena shee"), and in Scottish Gaelic literature as the daoine sìth or daoine sìdh. They are variously believed to be the ancestors, the spirits of nature, or the goddesses and gods themselves.*

QUOTE
In many Gaelic tales, the aos sí are later, literary versions of the Tuatha Dé Danann ("people of the Goddess Danu" - the deities and deified ancestors of Irish mythology). Some sources describe them as the remaining survivors of the Tuatha Dé Danann who retreated into the Otherworld after they were defeated by the Milesians. According to the Lebor Gabála Érenn (The Book of Invasions) the Tuatha Dé Danann were defeated in battle by the Milesians - the mortal Sons of Míl Espáine who, like many other early invaders of Ireland, came from Spain.*

If you check out the wiki, you'll see we're also related to the famous Leprechaun! awesome.gif

Fun Fact: We were originally called the Tuatha De Danann, but a kind CNer informed us before our DoE that there was a dead alliance with that name already. What a small world Bob is!

So come on, what have you got to lose? Check us out, you won't regret it. wub.gif

Hiya! This is Jimmeh.

I am one of our alliances Triumverates. Unofficially, I single handily oversee the production of quotes for our signatures, you may notice our signatures are quite fat and healthy. Officially however, I run the economic programs in our alliance, one of which focuses around getting each of our members a Manhattan Project as quickly as possible via open community effort. However, as has been alluded to above, we are missing a key piece to the puzzle; I told Rahl not to buy this puzzle from that shifty guy with the masters degree in puzzlry, but oh well.

*Ehem* Anyways, you are the person we've been looking for. So don't waste another minute, visit us before you finish this sentence!

It couldn't be easier, and I guarantee you won't regret it smile.gif

So, what are you doing here, anyway?

Why are you playing this game? To war? To grow? To be another nation among the thousands? There's more to this game than numbers. You're more to this game than pixels. You're someone who wants interaction, someone who wants to feel involved, feel like they're DOING something with their numbers and pixels.

We've been waiting for you.

At Aos Si, we know you're more than just a name on the computer screen. You have goals in this game, too. And so do we. We're looking for people who want to grow something, from the bottom up, be a part of something great from the very beginning. Are you this person?

You'll never know if you don't apply.
