holy crap that destroyers bow is completely crushed.

Well, the container ship DOES have a lot more weight behind it thus more force. A tank would still get trounced by a freight train.

Basic Physics.

Force = Mass x Acceleration.

Cargo Ship obviously has more mass, and at equal accelerations that Cargo ship would win.

Actually, a collision has nothing to do with Force, it's all about momentum.

Well, this doesn't help stop racial driving ability stereotypes....

Indeed, it is all about momentum, but still, the cargo ship has more of it...

Momentum = Mass x Velocity

I'd say the cargo ship has wayyyy more mass than the destroyer... Enough that it probably doesn't matter if that destroyer was going full speed and the cargo ship wasn't.

However, it does look like the cargo ship was moving perpendicular to the destroyers direction, so momentum wouldn't really apply to the cargo ship, just the destroyer.

Physics don't apply to real life!

Who cares about collisions, it only matters if they were in a battle.

I'd imagine the people who were affected by it care about it.

Well, if it was a battle, the destroyer would win for sure.
If it was for breaking a naval blockade, the cargo ship would win.

361 million square kilometers of ocean to roam around in and they somehow manage to run into each other. You have to try hard to fail that spectacularly.
