Today a massive infrastructure project was approved by Reichsmarschall Wareheim and the Militärrepublik's government. Most of the improvements will be based in Elsaß-Lothringen [Alsace-Lorraine]. Since its acquisition by the Militärrepublik, Elsaß-Lothringen has been made a shining example of the Rheinmark's determination and ability to excel. Now with the infrastructural improvements the province promises to be one of the most modern in Western Europe.

Today the Markstag began voting on the possibility of moving the capital city of the Rheinmark. With an overwhelming majority in favor, the candidates are Frankfurt am Main, Stuttgart, and Straßburg. Voting will commense within the next few days.
This comes as a product of the shifting ways of life within the Rheinmark. At its birth, the country was composed of many different provinces. Soon, Switzerland and Baden-Würtemberg both consolidated into two different provinces. Once the 'Border Question' was answered, Valhöll was added, then Elsaß-Lothringen. Also due to a revival of nationalistic fervor for the Nordlandic way of life, it was decided that a new capital city might be in order, especially in the advent of the acquisition of Frankfurt.

The vote of the Markstag was counted and the city of Straßburg will be the new capital of the Militärrepublik Rheinmark. The city has been the center for Rheinmarkan advancement since its inception into the Republik. Now government buildings will be built to house the government there. Celebratory rallies were held in the city, including the first military parade since Elsaß-Lothringen was annexed by the Republik.

When the border issue was resolved, Frankfurt am Main was made capital of the Valhöll province. When this happened the Marks Wehrmacht entered the area to provide stability. Recently, crackdowns have been occuring on drug cartels that had been operating in the area during the uncertain period when the Rheinmark refrained from putting troops into the region.
Today, gunfire opened up in the streets as soldiers were confronted with armed criminals after busting an opium den. Opium is the drug of choice for the disoriented area and regional authorities have released research stating almost all of opium addiction in Valhöll is confined to immigrants. Therefore, the national government has closed the province of Valhöll from foreign and domestic immigration. The borders will be policed by armed soldiers of the Marks Heer and movement in and out of the province will be extremely limited until the situation is resolved.
