Website said 3LB, finish it in 2 hours and it's free. Or with a friend in 45 minutes and it's free.

So I went.

They said the meat alone is 3 LB, the entire burger is 5 LB.

I died

lebubu
That looks glorious.

Warrior, thats what you get for thinking with the stomach.

You need a butcher knife, and if that fails, get a chainsaw.

/but 45 minutes with a friend doesn't seem as far out

Did you try eating it with your hands? emot-v.gif
Esau of Isaac
I had a premature heart attack just looking at that thing emot-v.gif
Pillihp

Yes.

And hell no I did not finish that monstrosity
Il Terra Di Agea
Honestly, I've seen bigger, and could probably take that were I to not eat for a day or two beforehand. Definitely a challenge though, and I can see why it would be surprising to not expect what you were getting.
Andrew425
Meh, as long as you don't drink anything and just focus on the burger 2 hours is loads of time.

You say that now, but two pounds in and you'd be a bit quieter.
Arcturus Jefferson
How much was it if you don't finish it?

Did you take the rest in a doggy bag at least?
Chron
I could probably down it. 5 pounds is nothing with bathroom breaks.

They gave me a big box thing for cakes for it. Was gonna take it for some odd reason but in the car the smell was too much we literally threw it out 1 block later. I don't want to see another burger for a while...

edit: chron part of the rules was you couldn't even get up from the table during the challenge

With a friend, I could do it.
Arcturus Jefferson
That's what I'm thinking - or at least with the friend it lessens some of the financial sting of defeat. $14 for 2.5 lbs of hamburger isn't that bad.

You do it for the lulz, not the food man. tongue.gif

i think i know a couple people that with either me or other people could finish that thing off in 45 minutes. Alone might be another matter.

Interesting. I'd need a day of preparation and serious stomach churning, but I may be able to do it.
Vicea
No way that can be anything close to healthy.

"I've seen bigger"

I swear to God there is always someone that HAS to say it. -.-

Oh, and all these people saying
"I could do it.."

Yeah. Ok.

Yeah. Ok.

I once polished off a 2-pound burger in under an hour without any prior preparation (i.e. I had meals prior to that), yes that makes me a damn pig, but you know what? I did it.
thedestro
I'm not a big guy or anything but 2.5 pounds (other half with friend) is definitely doable. By myself, I could not even fathom attempting it.

Props for you giving it a try though,

You say that now, but two pounds in and you'd be a bit quieter.

Indeed though I'm sure some here could at least finish the majority of it in the alloted time. It would be close for any one person. They'd be more likely to do it with two of though as even 2 hours later your stomach won't have digested the rest of it. With me and my dad we'd definately have this. However two people that are prepared for the challenge could manage quite easily I imagine depending on the individuals.

The key is as the other guy stated, no drinks or if you need (as your mouth may get too dry to actually down it) then water. The carbonation in soda will fill you up more then water alone. Also do some stretches periodically in the chair to shift the food in your stomach to try and remove some air pockets. It may not be much that you get rid of but here every little bit counts.

That's where a second person and/or preparation come in then it's well within reach wink.gif

So where is this place? I'd be up to taking on the challenge with someone. All I hope is the burger actually tastes good. If not then that alone will keep me from getting half way.
bigwoody
That is so doable with 2 people.

1 person...damn. Takes genetics.

You're missing the part where coming in with an empty stomach and vacated bowels makes a difference.

It's this kind of careless thinking that leads to unfinished burger challenges.
Nythera
Wow. That's cool.

And speaking of eating a huge burger like that, yeah, me and my bro could down it. As long as it had no pickles. Pickles are disgusting.
Vicea
Chron, if you can fix that I'll pay for the Colonic.
Seriously though, if you can show proof of that accomplishment you can drink the monetary equivalent of a colonic treatment in beers at my expensive in The Netherlands.

Ofcourse I am being a chicken now by offering it, expecting you to never come.
But if you came, I'll keep my word and brand you hero.
MiasmaCircle
No way. Anyone who can do that is a verifiable freak of nature.

Il Terra could do it, I've seen him finish off a 2 pound pancake in under a minute and then proceed to order a plate of buffalo wings.

I dunno the burger was good for about the first 10-15 minutes...then it started getting real dry real fast.

In the first 30 minutes alone I drank about 6 glasses of water because you really do need it in order to chew faster.

As for the place it's in Clinton, NJ. It's called Clinton Station Diner. On the site it says the burger is 3 LBs....but when I got there I found out 3 LB was just the meat and the entire thing is 5 LBs dry.gif
