I am an Illinois fan (very very sad - I know) and out of Big Ten loyalties I am going to predict an Iowa championship win (don't really care as long as it is not USC, Notre Dame, or OSU).

Yeah - they tend to suck in inter-conference play in the last few years but actually do pretty well in getting players to be successful in the NFL.

California. They're fun to watch, as either they do crazy awesome 92-yard runs and 59-7 blowouts, or they crumple like Kleenex in front of low-ranked teams. You never know what you'll get.

Wow. Another week. Another ugly game capped off by improbable series of events leading to a win. This time, Iowa somehow manages to turn the ball over SIX TIMES and still manage to win. And of course, there was the terrible calls that add to fuel to the Iowa Haters bandwagon. I don't know exactly how many points the refs cost Indiana, but I'm going to say it was AT LEAST 7. In the end, it doesn't make up for Indiana forgetting to play the 4th quarter and letting Iowa score 28 unanswered... but you can bet it'll be used as an excuse.

And of course, Iowa will drop further in the polls (they deserve it), but I can actually see them staying right around #1 or #2 in the computers, since the computers didn't have to watch the nightmare of a game that was this Halloween showdown...

Anyway, this just shows that Iowa needs to give up any dreams of a national championship, and focus on not tripping up against the Cardiac Cats next week, not getting blown out by OSU and not losing to the listless Gophers.... And then not getting blown out in the Rose Bowl (if they somehow survive the remainder of the season)... Sad, sad, sad game.

Iowa needs to remember that it can't rely on luck all the time...since it's bound to run out on us on the most inopportune time...
