Why a lottery?
Lotteries have been around for ages. Millions of people participate in them so it's more than logical to start one on Planet Bob. In a real life lottery, you have to buy a ticket with a slim chance of winning and a high chance of losing your money. FOK doesn't like the idea of participants spending money on games so we offer you a free ticket when you participate in one of our monthly (30 day) tech deals. This means win, and possible double win for you!:

• We pay you 3 million for 100 tech; most of the time in a 3 slot deal + 2x1 slot deals
• You receive a free ticket for our prize pot, which can contain up to $51 million each month.

Why take 3 million for 100 tech from a random alliance, when as a FOK techdealer you can receive a free chance on a large amount of money, which makes it possible for you to switch from dealing to buying?

Prizes
1st prize: $ 15.000.000 + $ 750.000,- * number of contestants with a maximum of $ 15.000.000 (= max $ 30.000.000)

It makes sense to be protecting your assets in such a way. The problems with policies such as these is that sometimes they impinge on other alliances sovereignty. So long as it isn't the case with this new policy I don't see any problems in the near future. But this does have the potential to cause a few diplomatic headaches.

What happens when one of your sellers attacks someone and they are attacked in turn? Will you be monitoring the sellers with the +1 caluse so that when someone canceles their foriegn aid and it can't be seen, they'll still be protected? If so, how can someone possibly know that they're attacking a FOK dealer when there's absolutely no external marks to indicate as such?

FOK announced to protect their tech seller, which they will. If I attack a random none and he is doing techdeals with alliance X; thats a shame for alliance X! As long as they never announced to protect their dealers, its not my problem.. Is it?

FOK offers protection to their techdealers. We announced it, so its official. No other alliances ever announced this, so I guess FOK is the only alliance meaning I am free to raid whatever techdaeler I want. Its the fault and responsibility of the techbuyers alliance Of course FOK honours any treaties that alliances have made


I personally think every techdealer deserves protection.. Its up to the buyers to offer the protection official and for the dealer to find a trusthworty buyer like FOK

Hmm, I think I understand your hypocrism.. In Dutch we have a saying, translated to English its 'What you do not want to be done to you, do not do it to others'. But this ain't reallity. Its a game in which everyone wants to become 'the strongest'... For example: we don't want FOK nations to be nuked. But when we go into war, we WILL be nuked! And the best defence is offence, so we will start nuking.

I personally think its important for alliances to protect their techdealer. Therefor we made this official.. Other alliances probably don't care about the protection of their techdealers, otherwise they would have announced it theirselves. And of course: we don't attack those with treaties.. We don't attack those in big allianctes, etc. But everyone knows that a nation without diplomatic connections risks being attacked.. Except those who techdeal for FOK

I'd say if you have an AA, made yourself publically known (DoE) and have more than 1/2 persons wearing the same AA (with the exeption of PPK, cause we love Opethian) And preferrably have a treaty/protector

Yes, If we feel that the nation is part of an alliance. As per the requirements listed above, FOK wouldnt attack that nation.

Our protectorate is a sovereign alliance. We don't dictate their internal rules (e.g. techraid rules).
