North Central Curristan
Town of Saiatra
10am
The town of Saiatra bustled with the late morning traffic. The traffic was slowly getting more packed due to a van breaking down on the main junction. Motorists nearby wondered what was going on. Suddenly they got their answer.
The van exploded in a huge fireball killing 2 civilians and flipping several cars parked nearby. Simultaneously all over Northern Curristan car bombs exploded killing many more civilians.
A tape arrived at the Curristan National News Headquarters:
*A masked man in front of the camera*
"This is the Curristan Revolutionary Front. We are a splinter group of the World Liberation Front made up of revolutionaries from inside Curristan and the former Top Gear. We wanted to cause panic both in Top Gear and Curristan but the war forced us to concentrate on Curristan. We will cause as much chaos as we can and hopefully ingite another revolution. You will find us to be most cunning in our approach. We have many small arms that we liberated from civil war stockpiles during the panic. Now we will use them on their former owners. The Curristan Government will now either resign or face our wrath. Your choice...."
*Tape ends*
The Curristan President's response:
"This Curristan Revolutionary Front is just another organisation that wants to cause havoc in our country. Lets see what they have got. This will be interesting. I have 3 years of military experience so lets see what this upstart can do."

All over Northern Curristan, armed insurgents attacked Curristan Military installations. These installations were manned by small numbers of units so orders were given to fall back and destroy any equipment. This was completed and by midday defensive positions had been manned. The Curristan Revolutionary Front had managed to secure a 20 square mile area of territory. Estimates at the moment guessed that around 300 guerilla soldiers had made the surprise attacks, but the CRF had an estimated total strength of around 1000 guerilla soldiers. However the number was inaccurate and only a general estimate.
The Curristan National Army reinforcements were approaching. Battle would soon be joined...

Near the village of Vartay
The edge of the western area of the CRF occupied zone
The leading units of the 4th Division, a veteran unit that had been one of the first re-equiped with the pre civil war military equipment approached the outskirts of the village. A lead M1A1 Abrams MBT spotted two CRF rebels attempting to get a heavy machine gun in position. The 120mm gun traversed and pointed at where the rebels were. It paused for a moment, then fired. The shell, an armour piercing round, punched a hole through the wall and exploded. As the smoke cleared, the two rebel soldiers were no longer there and the heavy machine gun in pieces.
Suddenly a mortar shell landed on top of the Abrams and bounced off. The soldiers ran for cover as more landed around them. The Abrams crew was safe, as the mortar shells would just jolt the tank. It would be more of a nuisance rather than a threat. The tanks coaxial 50 caliber machine gun suddenly came into life, spraying the nearby houses with armour piercing rounds and tracer rounds. The tank then moved into the village and the supporting soldiers followed.
The battle for Vartay had begun.

Near the village of Vartay
The edge of the western area of the CRF occupied zone
The CRF fighters had been pushed through the village square after heavy fighting. The 4th Division's infantry had managed to secure a hold on the village while its M2 Bradley APCs had moved around the flanks and had surrounded the remaining CRF fighters in the northern areas of the village.
Private Luke Jackson looked through the telescopic sight of his M24 Sniper Weapon System (SWS). He could see that two CRF fighters were attempting to escape through the cordon around the village but were pinned down by heavy fire. One stood up. Private Jackson aimed at the rebel soldiers head. He turned and looked in Private Jacksons general direction, but could obviously not see him in his hiding place.
Private Jackson pulled the trigger. The crack of the barrel was drowned out by the constant fire, so the fighter would not know what hit him. The bullet went through the CRF soldiers left temple. He fell backwards and disappeared from sight. The now dead fighters mate woke up to the fact that he was on his own. He ran out of where he had been hidden and was immediately hit by machine gun fire. "That guy was a fool." Private Jackson thought to himself.
11am
The battle for the village had raged for 27 hours. The village was now in Curristan hands and mopping up operations were now underway. Some fighters had slipped the cordon and were now heading northeast to regroup with the main force.

Getting the UAVs ready the soldiers at the base launched it. Being an RCAF unit it was launched by a take off run rather than as rocket launched as for the RCA and RCN variants.
Reaching the Headquarters the consoles were activated and communications set up with the MILCOM network of the Royal Cochin Defense Forces. First off the net were the satellite reconnaissance of the area requested by Curristan. Next came the reconnaissance feed from the S-RECO currently in air. The S-RECOs could be remotely controlled by the operators at HQ and could be tasked specifically Curristan Military to gain specific intelligence. The electronic warfare suites in the S-RECO was already sorting out the various electromagnetic frequencies in its neighborhood to track, isolate and sort enemy groupings.

North of Tarbaya
The 8th Divisions offensive was resumed at 06:00am by M113A3 APCs supported by M1A1 Abrams MBTs attacking northeast. This offensive would be the first of many to wear down the CRFs strength.
Heavy fighting raged around the 10 square mile plains in that area close to the Imperial Union border. This pushed the CRF fighters towards the 4th Division who was now moving northwards in a dual pincer movement. By midday they had forced the CRF forces into a 4 sqaure mile pocket pressed against the border where they would be now unable to escape.
The CRF fighters in the pocket were fighting with desperation as they realised their problem. At 6pm, the 4th Division swung east just a mile short of the border and attacked along the northern edge of the pocket. This battle would be probally seen from the Imperial Union side of the border as the night sky was lit up with tracer rounds and flashes from explosions.

At 9pm, a spearhead of the 8th Division linked up at the village of Satarash with a spearhead of the 5th Division who had advanced from the eastern area of the occupied zone.
---------------------------------------------------------------
In the eastern area of the CRF occupied zone, the 5th Division had attacked with its entire complement. Its 5,000 soldiers attacked with all of its armour and artillery smashing the CRF front. By 1pm, the attack had made a breach in the CRF line and had began to advance along the entire front.

5th Division M113A3 APC advancing west
The most progress was in the extreme north of the occupied zone when at 9pm that night, a spearhead has linked up with the 8th Division at the village of Satarash, 12 miles from the attacks start point.
Curristan National News proclaimed the border areas were now secure and the CRF occupied zone now contained. The CRF now held an area only 8 miles long and 10 miles deep with the 2 sqaure mile pocket to the west now being contained.

It would take time for the Special Forces to get fully ready and to prepare the missile launchers, personal vehicles, and IFVS. However, the F-50s and F-40s would be prepared and put in service in time, and as will the U-8s, AH-1 Zulus, S-22s, U-1s, and UAV-1s.
A message was sent to the New England Task Force by the Curristan President Lisa Black:
"Welcome to Curristan!! I hope that you find our weather okay. Once you are ready, you will be marching into battle. I hope that with the Curristan Military we can defeat the Curristan Revolutionary Force once and for all. I promise to get you back home to your families as soon as possible. Good luck."

The Curristan President would receive a reply from General Mark Clarke, commander of the task force.
"The weather is good at this time of the year, and we look forward to work together with you in eradicating the CRF and restoring peace and stability to Curristan once again. With that said, where shall my soldiers be sent to?"

Orders were immediately sent to General Mark Clarke:
Your forces will be pushed immediately into Operation Clearout. Your forces will work on the left flank of the 8th Division and help push the CRF forces southwards and link up with the 2nd and 4th Divisions who will come up from the south. The idea will be to clear the entire zone as quickly as possible, but without recieving heavy losses.

CRF pocket 15 miles south of the Imperial Union border
The CRF forces in the 4 square mile pocket were now being squeezed mercilessly. The 1st Division had taken over the fight and was pushing slowly into the pocket. CRF resistance was heavy, with the M113A3 APCs and M2 Bradley IFVs being used constantly along with the M1A1 Abrams MBTs to push the CRF soldiers into a tighter pocket.
The use of M224 60mm Mortars and M252 81mm Mortars in the assault on CRF positions made it easier for the Curristan soldier who had to take cover every time the CRF opened fire on them. Fighting was fierce in every village as CRF soldiers fought until they were either killed or captured.

Village on fire as Curristan soldier moves through it.

"Affirmative. We will work together and cooperate with your forces."
PUBLICAfter preparations and organizing, the Special Forces, weapons, vehicles, and aircrafts were now fully ready to mount any operations in conjunction with the Curristan forces. Squadrons of S-22s lifted off into the air, carrying Special Forces troops as IFVs and Humvees carried land-based troops on land toward the front. The AH-1 Zulu attack helicopters also went up into the air, sent to assist the S-22s.
U-8s, U-1s, and UAV-1s were being readied and refueled in anticipation for Operation Clearout. THAAD and Patriot missile launchers, as well supplies and equipment, were being moved toward the front or were installed in strategic areas in Curristan to mount an attack against the insurgents. Off the coast, as well in airbases near the coast, F-40s and F-50s were being prepared for combat.
