That's pretty much it, Embargo is another word for sanctioning a nation and is 100% more of an accurate name for what senators are able to do to nations while sanctioning is a more vague word that literally means to punish or great permission. Since Sanctioned is used twice in this game for sanctioned allainces and pretty much its own antonym on top of that, nation sanctions should be renamed Embargo to better get the picture of what it does.

simple change. Just have to find all the places where the word sanction shows up, and change it, unless its talking about top 12 alliances.
I'd say yes as it should be doable inside 15 minutes.

No real problems with this, and it avoids possible confusion between sanctioning an alliance and sanctioning a nation. Looks good to me.

Embargo is a fun name, consequently suggestion is approved
But sanction does also mean ban on trade/commerce

Agreed. I always found it amusing that the same word was used for something good for an alliance and something bad for a nation.

Agreed, this confused be a lot when I was a wee little newbie

Agreed. I'm still going to call them sanctions anyway (

), but yeah, it confused me when I was new too.

I like it, simple and it'll clarify the action that's being taken against a nation.

agreed. This'll help clear up confusion, especially for newbie players.

Ah, I spy another well-backed, simple suggestion - I'll try to remember to bump it again in 2 months.

The only draw back is CNextend probably breaking again like it did when my show alliance seniority suggestion did when implemented, this will clear up a lot of confusion though, even now some probably did a double take when reading the title of this topic before remembering the two kinds.

Breaking a 3rd party extension is not something that even should be considered when deciding on implementing or not. Every 3rd party tool is considered unsupported.

I support this, but I also suggested changing "churches" to "temples" to represent more religions than christianity. But it was denied because "church" apparently applies to all religions, and "temple" didn't follow KISS, so I don't know.

I thought a sanctioned alliance was a really evil alliance or something for about 2 weeks.

Interesting, a suggestion that doesn't affect gameplay but is purely cosmetic. And my own was rejected, lol.
As for the actual suggestion: I don't really think there needs to be a change. The UN issues sanctions, we sanction. Nations embargo, whatever.

There's nothing more that needs to be said on this suggestion, what more can be possibly said?
