GENERAL EARTH RP GUIDELINES
RULE #1: Don't exaggerate, use common sense, and have fun.
ERP, or "Earth RP", is a political simulation game in which the player takes on the role of the leader of an existing nation, or forms a new nation. Beginning from January 1, 2012, the game consists of all pre-existing borders, however many settings have been altered to ensure fair, unbiased play. The Earth timeline as we know it ended December 31, 2009. Over the next two years, the countries within your starting borders have had either political or religious shifts - or perhaps they stayed as they already are. RP a brief two-year history and start off anew.
Time
The simulation begins on January 1 2012 in ERP time, progressing on a real life to ERP time scale of 1 real life day to 15 RP days. Every RP month is considered to have 30 days for simplicity.
Over time, further technology may be advanced, borders change, armies grow... anything, really.
Geography
Earth exists as it does currently in real life, and always will exist that way. Human geography of the continents and oceans will remain consistent. Nation's political names may be altered, however in order to avoid confusion, all cities and other place names will remain consistent. However, although Washington DC will always be referred to as Washington DC, it does not have to remain the capital of that nation.
Land
All nations begin with the preset territorial areas as in real-life. Naturally, these may alter as the game progresses freely. Entire nations can be wiped out, however no area of land should ever become unoccupied. All real-life citizen counts are consistent, naturally however you may wish to RP advancements in these statistics as the game progresses.
Organizations/Treaties
As said before, everything that currently exists in the world exists in this. That includes all organizations like NATO and the EU. Treaties are as standard, like in CNRP or CN itself. But frankly, as long as both parties agree, you can form whatever document you heart desires.
Military
All nations start with the real-life stats of the regions they own, combined. From there, you may make sensible military advancements. If there is a dispute regarding exaggeration, contact a GM and they will resolve the matter.
Technology
All nations started off with equal technology. All modern-day technology existing today is available, and new technology will be allowed to be made at a sensible rate. No god-modding, no lasers, Artificial Intelligence, extravagant robots, no circus on Pluto... you get the idea.
Game Masters
GMs are going to be done the old school way - the new GMs will, at their discretion, pick someone from inside the RP to be a GM to replace them. Our current GMs:
Drakedeath
Sargun
Voodoo Nova
In conclusion, be sensible, don't do anything ridiculous, and don't do anything stupid. We're not going to lay down a ton of restrictions to specify exactly what you can and cannot do, simply refer to the bible of Common Sense and/or Rule #1.
Have fun out there.
