You need the uranium trade to buy the Manhattan project initially. Once you've bought it, you'll still need it to be be able to buy nukes. If you lose the uranium trade, you'll keep any nukes you already have, but you can't buy any more.

What's up with all these threads anyway? Try reading other threads on the same topic before making your own.

If you keep it, you can buy nukes and have normal upkeep. If you drop it, you can't buy nukes and have double upkeep.
