From Sea to Shining Sea

The American Confederate government has commissioned the reformation of the United States Navy under the name of the American Confederate Navy. Seven total ships are being constructed; one Ford-class aircraft carrier, the ACS (American Confederate Ship) George Washington; two Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, the ACS John Adams and ACS Thomas Jefferson; two Ticonderoga-class cruisers, the ACS James Madison and ACS James Monroe; one Los Angeles-class submarine, the ACS John Quincy Adams.

President Alexander Jefferson made a short address on the construction;

"It is necessary that the American Confederation becomes the naval power that the United States once was. We once ruled the seas, and we shall once again! This is the first step in gaining naval supremacy and securing the coasts of our great nation! Non sibi sed patriae!"

Anyway...I must say this is a good start. I look forward to seeing how you establish yourself as a naval power in ERP--as long as you do it in a realistic time frame.

One Ford-class costs around $8 billion to build. All other expenses included, we offer to sell New Australia one at the price of $8.5 billion USD, or $9.85 billion Australian dollars.

8.5 Billion Dollars for one Gerald R Ford-class Aircraft Carrier it is. Money will be wired upon completion. What is the estimated time of completion?"

That depends on the vigor at which our men work, speed of equipment shipments, and the likes.

The nation controlling Mexico and the rest of Central America hasn't responded in months. As such, America will be annexing the region.

"And now let us watch the PR backlash that you receive in comparison to what Britain receives. Not quite in proportion, is it?"

"This isn't quite the same as you annexing a portion of, say, Asia. Oh, wait, you've already done that."

"Actually it is. At least the Americans stay on their own continent."

OOC: Wouldn't you rather build a Virginia-class sub?

The US was going to replace the LA class subs with Virginia class subs.

"Is a state. And even if they weren't, South and North America tend to be thought of as the same continent. There is no 'natural separation.'"

OOC: No, Mexico is North America. Central America, part of North America, begins at Guatemala by most interpretations.
