I know this happens in some victories for the defender, where the defender loses infra tech and land even though he wins the battle, but can someone explain what is required for this to happen?
it has happened almost every battle for me, and you can tell it's my victory also because their troops abandoned money:

Message: You have been attacked by _____. You lost 725 soldiers and 0 tanks. You killed 315 soldiers and 0 tanks. Their forces razed 5.258 miles of your land, stole 0.964 technology, and destroyed 9.729 infrastructure. Their forces looted $0.00 from you and you gained $2,598.48 in your enemy's abandoned equipment. In the end the battle was a Victory. Any existing peace offers that were on the table have been automatically canceled.

It appears to me that this happens when I lose more than the enemy, but how did he do this to me 4 battles out of the 5 he sent me? I had 2 more guerilla camps than him and double his soldier count in the battles.

Happens to me all the time, thought it's supposed to be so :>

Logic questions, not a bug biggrin.gif

Will answer anyways.

War is never a one-way victory. Your opponent is fleeing around a mountain, they are lightly armed so they can move faster, in order to catch up you have to ditch supplies, you ditch, catch up, and win. Fight was victorious, but you still lost some stuff.

Actually, this a part of the gameplay, but it's supposed to have minor odds of occuring... this is either really bad luck or something went wrong in the odds.
JimKongIl
It seems to happen more often then not when the attacker has 5% odds and defender 95%
With 40:60 odds or 50:50 odds its not as common.

So in other words, you're saying that if instead they won the battle, then they wouldn't have stolen any tech?
Ammon
Win/lose is based upon number of soldiers lost, tech/land/infra is not.

It's the so called underdog bonus .....

The concept is good - in as far as a weaker Nation can sometimes prevail
But the algorithm(s) used are WAY wrong - attacking with 5% versus 95% odds nearly always wins tech dry.gif
Probably hasn't been fully tested by admin
Should be reported 'coz it IS WRONG - but I, personally, can't be ar**d tongue.gif

Ive become an expert at inflicting these actually... its not a huge secret but still isn't widely known about by your regular CN player, if you know how to do it you can inflict losses on any sized enemy this way, doesn't matter if your a smoking pile of ruins at 80 infra fighting a 500 infra monster it can be done.

Its all part of the game

Yep, its a wonderful tactic to use, and is needed quite frequently in TE!!... cool.gif
