Full Version: unable to accept any trades or change team after sanction

When a nation has just voted for senate and that nation is sanctioned(like I just was) he cannot change teams for 5 days and he is prevented from sending trades to or accepting trades from any other team. Perhaps I am wrong but I don't think sanctions in TE were designed to be as economically devastating as to prevent a nation from conducting any trades for 5 days no matter what. In my current circumstance I can't cannot trade with anyone until sanction is lifted or 5 days elapse so I can change teams. Sanctioned nations should be allowed to change teams to pursue trades whether they have recently voted for a senate candidate or not or be allowed to pursue trades with non sanctioned teams.

"Trade sanctions prevent any member of the Black Team from trading with the sanctioned nation."

It doesn't say anything about preventing trades from other teams.

You are right I won't vote on a team with any senator of an potentially opposing alliance solely for this reason but this still doesn't address the discrepancy between what a TE sanction is supposed to do "Trade sanctions prevent any member of the Black Team from trading with the sanctioned nation." and what it actually does "Trade sanctions prevent any member of ANY Team from trading with the sanctioned nation."

I have the same problem. The simple solution is to not vote, and wait it out.

In the future I won't vote but this still doesn't address the apparent discrepancy that "Trade sanctions prevent any member of the Black Team from trading with the sanctioned nation." when in actuality it prevents anyone on any team from trading with the sanctioned nation. What power should the black team senator have over my trade with a white team nation?

I agree. I think their logic is that supposedly the black trading sphere surrounds you, so when they sanction you they can fully block all trades to you for as long as you're in the sphere.

Perhaps but the sanction is much more powerful and completely different than the description. Any word from the admin or mods on this one?

From experience, mods and admins rarely make rounds in the TE forums unless they receive a report.

This is the reporting section of the forums, though.

Which means what? He got the right forum, but that doesn't mean it will rush his report. He has a better chance posting it in a spam thread in the OWF where a mod will catch it, imo. tongue.gif

The damage is already done to my nation this is just for the benefit of future sanctioned nations. Until this discrepancy is fixed I would suggest any rulers with an unfriendly senator on their team to not cast a vote for a senator so they keep the freedom to switch teams if they are sanctioned.
JoshuaR
Ah, but then how can you prop up a friendly senator? wink.gif

(Anyway, agree that this seems out of the normal description of a sanction, so admin should either change the description or change the situation.)

JimKongIl
Thats not the point I had someone to unsanction me but they have to wait several days before they are able. Any thoughts from Admin or Mod on this one?
dogbite
Checking this option will forfeit any team trade bonuses but will make the trade agreement immune to team sanctions. why dose this not work?am i missing somthing or is it a bug?
