Currently, even an inactive nation in anarchy will be able to do some "damage" in opportunity costs by just staying inactive and letting only defeat alerts through. I'm aware that you can adjust your deployment to match the defender to be able to get tech., but being at 0 soldiers so the opponent will be stuck with a useless slot should be the cause of TE, a war game.

Suggestion: If one nation is anarchied, the other nation should be able to peace out without the anarchied nation's consent.

Before you go all "but this is a war-game and it's legitimate" thing, sending defeat alerts to an inactive nation is not war, and it's not fun (although much more profitable compared to some war cases).

P.S. By the way, I'm not sure if it would be a good idea, but I thought it would be worthy of a discussion at least. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

I disagree, because you can still beat up an anarchied nation. I've been nations in anarchy that are actually pretty power still and can still pack a punch.

I think a better solution would be a '3 defeat alerts, you're out' rule. Where a nation that suffers three defeat alerts would be granted mercy by ending their defensive wars.

It sound like an idea, but anarchied nations are far from defenseless. I have been in wars and anarchied nations who had an air force. They sent air raids and I lost infra. I sent them defeat alerts and they lost infra. Although I would say the 3 defeat alert idea does sound good.
Marco Pang
It is an inconvienient fact that inactive anarchied nations take up slots. Sometimes they do retaliate though, and they have to be given a chance.
Azaghul
Nukes make this idea problematic.

Potential solution: if a player hasn't launched any attacks in two days, the other player can unilaterally peace out. That's a better indicator than just anarchy, as it's still possible to fight from anarchy.
Desperado
I think the idea of peace early or shorter wars in TE allows for more warmongering to occur. You end up with less time sitting with a few abandoned nations taking up war slots.
