The Royal Constitution
Preamble
As the Founders of the Kingdom of Caucasia, we do hereby swear to uphold this Constitution, to protect the People, and do all in our Power to Assist and Defend them.
Article I. Monarchy
Ultimate power shall hereby be granted to the current Monarch. He or she shall have the final say in all matters, whether they be civil, military, economic, or other.
Article I.A Succession
In the event of the current monarch’s death, an heir, appointed by the king or queen before his or her death, shall assume the throne. If no heir was chosen by the Monarch, the throne shall pass to his or her eldest child. If the monarch did not have children, rule shall pass to their spouse. If the monarch was unmarried, control of the nation shall be assumed by a Regency Council, consisting of the Royal Advisers and four elected Nobles.
Article II. Regency Council
Should a king or queen die without an heir, the current Advisers, and four Nobles selected by the People, shall become the Regents of the Kingdom. During their reign, they must select a new Monarch from the Nobility. Their powers span all that the Monarch’s did but for some exceptions. The Council may not engage in an offensive war under any circumstances, and may not sign treaties or form other binding pacts. The Council must select an heir by 2/3 majority within one year.
Article III. Nobility
The Nobles of Caucasia are the Upper Class, bound to their family. A Noble House will not be official unless recognized by a monarch, after which time the recognition is permanent, unless under extreme conditions. When recognized, Nobles may be considered for the Throne.
Article IV. Governors
Recognizing that the Monarch cannot have attention in every state at once, the Governor system is hereby established. Governors shall have jurisdiction over their respective state, shall be elected, and will balance power with State Legislatures. They are subordinates of the Monarch and the People, and both have the right to remove the Governor.
Article V. State Legislatures
The Legislative body of each state shall consist of 50 elected Legislators. They may veto acts by the Governor with a 70% vote, and may pass bills. They are subordinates of the Monarch and the People, and both have the right to remove the Legislators.
Article VI. The People
The People of Caucasia are to be the kingdom’s backbone. They may elect Governors and Legislators within their state, and are to be protected by the Monarch and Military of Caucasia.
Article VII. Foreign Affairs
The Monarch is obligated to honor his promises. Should any treaty need to be activated, the Monarch is required, under pain of death, to fulfill it, unless otherwise requested.
Signed for the People of Caucasia,
HRH King James Drake
Adviser Dan Donegan
Adviser Scott Stapp
