I just remembered that you get a 5+ happiness on the day your nation is one year old. Unfortunately, I noticed the special one-day event today, 8/13/2009 9:05:54 PM.

If your nation was created after 12pm, your 1 year will be at 366, not 365. It's how the game interprets it all.

Well that stinks. I wish I had known that. Lost out on a free +5 happiness for my 14/15 day BC.
