I don't know if there are alot of Boondock fans in CN. I love it, however i'm rather skeptical about it. The first one was just so incredible that the second one could only bring it down. Of course it won't stop me from seeing it 7 times, just probably the 8th and 9th. thoughts?

Yeah I don't see this needing a sequel.
Cakeman32
Sad to see, but I'll watch it for sure.
DogeWilliam
Boondock Saints sequel? That's crazy.
edikroma
This has been a long time coming. Though, I honestly don't see this being as great as the first one...
Red_Dragon
won't be as good as the first but won't be bad either.

According to Wikipedia the guy who played the FBI agent isn't returning sad.gif

other than that i think it will be a good movie just not at the same level as the first one

No Willem DeFoe? LAME

We should also spend the rest of this thread coming up with alternative subtitles

Boondock Saints 2: Canonization Rock
Boondock Saints 2: Devil's Advocate
Boondock Saints 2: Litany of Saints

No Williem Dafoe. There was supposed to be a trailer released at Comic-Con, but it never happened. It still says it's release date is Nov 1.

Who knows for sure, but the first one was just so incredible, that it will be tough to match.

I'm surprised they're finally going through with it. This has been rumored and in the making for how long now? It's going to be very hard to top or be as good as the first one though.

Is this for real?

The original is my favorite movie ever made, followed closely by Saving Private Ryan, but DAMN I can not wait.

I will see it "a few" times... smile.gif

And dang am I pumped for this, anyone have a release date?
Darth Revan
This has been in teh works pretty much since the first movie was released, which gives me high hopes for it. The lack of Mr. dafoe makes me sad though.
Straylight
Well, the first one was great. I'm usually pretty skeptical of sequels, especially because it's been so long since the first one, but hey - it could be great. biggrin.gif
PrideAssassin
I wasn't partial to the first one. Overacted, imo...
Just my opinion. tongue.gif

Did you even read it? He's still detective Greenly.

I looked at IMDB, i didn't see him!

Actually I just checked again, Marley, nor Greenly is listed.
Assington
He's right there in the cast list under Rocco.
Segovia
I loved the first one. Hopefully the second will be just as good. It sucks that William Dafoe (Detective Paul Smecker) isn't in it though.

This just in (IMDB)

I won't spoil too much because I was so happy the way the movie was made. It genuinely seems like Duffy really meant for this one to be for the fans an continued to develop the characters present. A couple of new faces don't take from the story - they add to it.

Here's the spoilers: The movie starts by showing how they've since escaped to Ireland. Something happens back home in Boston where they wage a new war on crime. Throughout the movie we get to see a broader picture of the boys and their father.

Fans of the first one will not be disappointed by this movie. If you haven't seen the first movie/or if you are odd and don't like the first movie then you're in for a treat - because even those who don't know the first one will like this movie.

Troy Duffy has been trying to make this ever since he screwed himself over with the first one. I have very low expectations for it.
Joe Stupid
Well It comes out today. I have tickets to go see it. It's only being shown in 7 states. Luckily it's in PA. Troy duffy said he's been writing the sequel for 10 years. If it's not good im going to kill him myself, but I have high hopes.

how did he screw himself over?
Joe Stupid
Troy was screwed over by the Columbine Shootings, and the Movie rating people (can't remember the acronym). The First Boondocks was to be released in late april, and the shootings happened in early April. They were told the movie was too gun violent, and weren't allowed to release it in theaters.
Bob Ilyani
Won't be as good as the first.

Is there a list of where it's out? It's a limited release and doesn't seem to be in Texas.
Joe Stupid
