A Public Service Announcement from The Silent Majority



In the world of Bob, technology is a resource that can be bought or stolen.

There are nations in Bob that believe when it comes to gaining technology, might makes right and stealing technology is just as valid as earning it themselves.

To those nations, I would like to introduce myself.

I am, Poseidons Rage, ..... Lord of the Sea




Though obvious to those reading this post, I may as well be Land-mine #14 .

I am one of many who was recruited by a group of righteous nations in order to disrupt the status quo of technology raiders.

If you haven't yet, please take a look at my War Slots



You may notice that I am being tech raided, by a spineless thief in the night who resides within the borders of Phrygian.

The citizens of this nation were not aware of what awaits them when they started their war machine.





What these citizens are now well aware of is that they have inadvertently stepped into what can aptly be described as a nuclear mine field.





The first nuke hit at 12:49 server time and only makes up for a small portion of what has been stolen through out the years of tech raiding that has been all too common on Bob.


I leave you with this thought: if a group of elite nations decided to set up a nuclear minefield for technology raiders, how many mines do you think they could set up with reserve funds to meet the requirements for the Manhattan Project in 19 months and counting?

Hmm. That's not a bad idea. Collect money through tech deals and back collecting taxes, step into none for a day in war mode (I guarantee that you'd be hit) then nuke your raiders. How long did it take you to save up all that money?

I agree. Techraiding is terrible, and I have always considered going "none" and just destroying the first person to techraid me.

I don't think the damage you do will really justify the time investment you have put into preparing this, but it's awesome all the same.

I hope none of our raiders fall into this trap but if they do, those are the breaks.

Tech raiding is theft,pure and simple, and as such should be condemned.I have never done it.Anything that disrupts this abhorrent practice is great.I salute you Poseidon's Rage and your Elite righteous backers.

I like this. I like it a lot. I've always had an anti-raiding stance, and it's good to see one get their comeuppance. I mean, talk about your tech raid going bad.

A pretty industrial use of time during the war. I figure this took about three to four months to prepare for depending on how many aid slots you have.

I like your style. Now only if you would turn it around and raid people yourself, it would be truly amazing.

Its good to see one thief finally get his fingers burnt.

You just advertised that you have a 191 million dollar warchest, and you're unaligned, and that you're going to nuke.

1) nukes run out quickly with SDIs
2) Money is a strong determining factor when chosing raid targets, and you made yourself a little more appetizing, believe it or not, by advertising that.
3) Land is what big nations are after most.. So long as they get their land, a little loss of infrastructure and tech is worth it, considering they'll soon knock you down themselves.

I don't think it will make any real difference, but it's good to see at least one raider being punished for his actions.

Note to self: advise smaller Athens nations to use gather intelligence spy operations prior to raiding.

It could be that that was part of his plan. He could only attract another raider of approximately 15,300 ns which he could easily surpass with that warchest. He could probably do that for a few steps, if he chooses. Good show Poseidons Rage, and good luck.

Gah. People whining about tech raids. When you have 30 alliances recruiting you the moment you join and 1-2 more every hour after that spent unaligned, you have no right to condemn raiders.

That Lord of the Sea fellow, his name sounds familiar, was he USN, could swear there was someone called that in the USN.

idk if this is a good or bad idea. On one hand, you nuke the dude. On the other hand, if he wins a GA, he gets a nice bit o cash.

Personally I support tech raiding, but if your dumb enough to go raiding without first checking to see if they have nukes and if you can take them, then you deserve what you get.

Looks like neither of you read the OP. He was sub 3K NS when declared on, and then jumped up into the 11K range after being attacked. To Velocity, he could probably not replish his forces all way long and still win every battle, and I don't think the raider could even GA with the odds that stacked. To Thor, he didn't have nukes, as by any outside indication he was defenseless, again less than 3K NS. The only way to have any indication of this event happening would be by spies, and a cursory look at the raider's nation makes me think he has no spies. This is not a case of a stupid raider, this is a case of a smart anti-raider. I would also like to echo the sentiments of the poster who said the OP is bad#@$.
