Full Version: Sort by Trade Status

1. State the current situation.

As of right now when you're looking for a trade you may get several tens or hundreds of pages for a given search query of a resource/resources you are interested in

2. State the problem with the current situation.

Most of the pages are useless to a nation looking for trades because it's hard enough to find a trade much less try to get someone with full slots to forsake a trade. You just go through the pages anyways looking for someone without a full sleeve of trades.

3. State how you suggest to changing it.

Let you sort the list returned of nations by the number of trade slots they have open(excluding pending trades).

4. State why your suggestion is better than the current situation

It's a lot easier and more accessible to find trade partners. The people you are most interested in are found quickly rather than by scrolling through many pages.

YES, YES, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD YES

this would make things a bit easier for those who have to look for trades often
NeoGandalf
Sound idea. I have an additional idea if we're talking about making trades easier. How about those nations with open resources can choose 'open to offers' or 'not open to offers'. I've set up a lot of trade circles and I find that, despite people having open slots, they often still don't want to trade. If we use Jenova's system and someone with Iron and Marble pops up with 5 open slots, they're not gonna trade with you because they're waiting for a trade circle to go live. So why not give those nations the option to auto-decline offers? Saves everyone time, because let's face it - everyone loves having a decent resources set, but nobody loves the process...

would not be too hard to implement. Have an extra column where you can sort by trade slots full. that would be very useful.

Most definetly yes.
Most likely to be trivially easy to implement, and would save everyone looking for trades a whole lot of time.
Haflinger
I also support.

I would make a different topic to make this suggestion, but this one is also fine.

The Trade Search Panel could have a few more features.

1-The one suggested above (sort by open trade slots)

2-Put a option of search criteria a "excluding criteria".
For example, if i´m looking for a trade partner without pigs and lumber as connected resources, i will have to open each one of the nations who would have open trade slots and check if they do not have both of the above stated resources as they would probably decline my trade request.
If i had a system that could show to me only the nations whom do not have these resources, it would save some time (do not know if it would make easier for the whole server too, as it would probably make less people checking other nations for "nothing").

I hope you find these suggestions useful. And sorry for any spelling mistake.

These three.

Plus make it possible to only receive trade offers from people with certain colors/resources.

Edit: Strange quote got in there.

I support this suggestion. It will make constructing trade circles easier.

This would make things Sooooo much easier.

This is definitely something that would come in handy.
Britanicca
No that would ruin the fun of finding trades, well for me anyway.
schmutte693
I support the OP. There is nothing wrong with the other suggestions, except that I think trying to add them in now would only confuse the issue. (Get your own threads, bums! tongue.gif )
DaymItzJack
I like the current setup, it sorts it by last activity. If you sort it by how many slots the person has, you'd going to end up having to check if that person is active or not.

I suggest something else like an option to remove people with full slots.
Pikachurin
Instead of this being default, how about having an option to add more options to customize finding trades? FOr example, I can select that I only want Aqua nations with sugar and wine, then sort them by trade slots and activity.

I could be wrong, but doesn't the advanced trade finder do exactly this?
Pikachurin
It does, but I'm suggesting that the suggestion should be an option in the trade finder instead of being enabled by default.
Itsuki Koizumi
great idea. I hate just having slots being taken up about some dude that can't decide to take your trade or not >_<

Except that collection 'activity' really has very little to do with how active a player is and how long it will take for them to read your message. A nation 3 days inactive because he's not signed in for 3 days is much less useful to send a message to than a nation 15 days inactive who is back-collecting.

I like the OP's idea

Sorting by slots open. When their's a tie (which there often will be) put those with higher total slots first.
Scorponok
Hell yes, im all for making it easier and NeoGandalfs idea adds more aswell. Please do this, please!

how about specifying what resources you dont want to appear

I hate it when there's an amazingly good idea suggested here and it doesn't get implemented yesterday.

Get this in the game ASAP.
