The government of Chan Khong made an anouncment regarding the offical religion: "The Chancellor's office wants to make it clear to the people of Chan Khong that we will not attach ourselves to foolish conceptual terms such as calling ourselves 'Buddhists'. This concept generating is completely unacceptable so therefore, I denounce the religion 'Buddhism' as a conceptual form, and ask the people to please adhere to the teachings from the monestary. This concept generating is in direct violation of the treaty constructed by monestary officals, and I have no choice but change the form of government which will be announced at a later date."
