Full Version: Demanding Nuclear Warfare Shutdown

So many nations have nuclear warfare programs running; if every nuke in the world was launched at once, it would surely obliterate our planet. The global radiation would skyrocket to over 500% and all of our environments would be trapped at one star or lower. For the sake of peace and prosperity, a sanction on nuclear warfare must be placed. When a bomb is dropped, it is as though you have attacked everyone else, even your allies.

First thing's first, however, we need to discourage players from dropping the bomb, telling them to use it in a last resort ditch effort. When there are enough nations willing to join, all the team senators may enforce the elimination of at least five nukes with the other nations at their backs. From then we can work our way to a nuclear-free society. Rogue nations would be sanctioned and perma-TIed by the rest of the community.

If we do not do this now, our world will surely whither. Many people would die from exposure, the green fields in our national parks would shrivel, and even those at the equator would need to wear coats at night. We must defend the world we live in from ourselves and work our way to a world without mass destruction caused by overactive atoms.

The nations of Planet Bob are not incredibly adversely affected.

OOC: Quit your !@#$%*ing. Nukes are a part of CN
Bokonon
Really, don't complain. A couple nukes here and there? A nuke rogue?

Wait until a major alliance wars with another major alliance. When 500-1000 nukes are dropping a day... THEN you can complain about the GRL.
lebubu
I happen to like barren wastelands, thank you.
Arcades057
We refuse.

der_ko
No.

What's not to love about mutant freaks running around throughout my country?

7 of the 8 answers you got came from the Mushroom Kingdom, i think we are making clear that we love our shining beautiful nukes :eng101:
Boogeyman657
I don't think that will be happening from BeanTown Nation. awesome.gif

OOC: So much for it being a real-world nation sim lol. I was trying to spice things up just through a pinch of paprika. tongue.gif

I try to to think about it. With normal GRL my environment is top notch, but the current GRL is costing me half a star.

I can't find my way home without glowing trees.

While it is possible to Bill Lock planet bob with GRL, that isn't happening soon.

I don't understand what peoples taboo with nuclear weapons is. They're a weapon in CN to be used for defense and they are meant to be used.

Is all the "Quit yer b****in' boy!" crap necessary? Just politely refuse and move on.

I'm looking forward to it, the consequences should be interesting
(DAC)Syzygy
well imho the OP is right with the fact that there are way too much nuclear weapons around, unfortunately the only way to get rid of them is... firing them on someone who deserves it smile.gif

So, the new environment changes offer a lot of nice political influence when some combattants harming the whole world with +5 Env-Penalty smile.gif

It is very necessary. Without it, the degree of disagreement in this thread would be less than it is. We like our nukes. I like mine enough that I've spent $130,000,000 in wonders to maintain a large arsenal, and the means to replenish it no matter what happens.
BartSimpson
Arenellian engineers have learned how to generate electricity from ambient atmospheric radiation. That said, nuclear wars are good for our economy and we will oppose any efforts to ban nuclear weapons.

Is that so? I contend that it isn't. I also feel that such remarks are disrespectful and does nothing more than to breed animosity among each other. Just because it's trendy to be a jerk these days doesn't mean everyone has to fall lock-step in line. I personally don't mind the nukes and support their use in warfare. Indeed, 'tis a fine weapon.

I was so proud when I saw this.

It's too bad this guy isn't unaligned and in my range, I'd put the Mushroom in Mushroom Kingdom on his nation.
Slartiibartfast
if you really hate nukes that much, dont play. Nukes are a part of life here in CN and i suggest that they should be used more, not less.

If I have it with Cattle and Gold it's quite possible with Furs and Gold.

Although, who wants Furs as a filler? blink.gif
Machiabelly
I am sorry, but the nation of Prince Edward Island disagrees. We maintain a strong nuclear arsenal and although we do not intend to use it in an agressive manner, we strongly feel it helps deter nations from attacking us.

OOC: really people, it would be nice if a couple of replies were some form of an attempt at RPing since it is an IC thread. Yes I recognize the irony of going OOC to post this.
Adrian LaCroix
I believe the sanctions against nuclear warfare are called "perma-ZI."
Ephriam Grey
You give up your nukes, then i'll give up mine. I swear. Totally serious.

You forgot to read another post I made on the first page... sleep.gif

Nukes are awesome.

Nukes are part of the game, I personally do not like that a lot of times nukes go un-used unless the alliance is about to go down and a lot of times, not even then.
welshgazza1992
NO...

Even though I haven't got Nukes... YET tongue.gif muhahaha

To the OP: You have only been here about 2 1/2 months I see. When I started this game, the GRL was over 2. Fortunately the environment rules had not been changed yet. The point being, the current GRL represents everyone 'playing nice'. Be thankful it is as low as it is. rolleyes.gif
jackyseto123
Remember OP, Planet Bob is immune to radiation.
Therefor, LET THE NUKES HIT THE FLO.
Bob Janova
A GRL of around or below 1 is extremely low. Enjoy the cleanliness of your atmosphere now, for when the next real war starts you will be able to see at night from the glow.

Uncontrolled use of nuclear weapons should be avoided, but Seria feels it is in its national interest to maintain a nuclear deterrent considering the violent nature of the world.

The Nation of LUEshida has seen the closest we have ever gotten end of Planet Bob. The GRL was 4.99

IC: Never! The nukes of X.G.A. are there for a reason. We will use them whenever we see fit, without regard to any such treaty! Our fallout shall blot out the sun!

I do believe you mean IF. Acronmyia's intelligence tells us of nothing but dove's and olive branches, not of armies and tanks.

Your rant sounds too much like left-wing scare mongering from Planet Earth. Please ... leave that stuff on Earth. I like the risk of getting nuked on Planet Bob and hope to use one myself someday.

You know, that would be a day to go down in history! Imagine ... most nuclear nations all firing one within a couple of days of one another!

That is really sad. You should get nuked. In fact, this entire thing is such pathetic drivel, I shall totally ignore it.

PS: GRL is not that much of an impact.
Cycieties
Once again people are ignoring another post I made on page 1.

Dont worry I am doing my bit to increase nuclear warfare tongue.gif
Henry
I agree with the OP. But that is only because I don't have any nukes. awesome.gif
Jihadstan
As much as I like about this idea of "no nukes" it just would hurt my independence, I will have to protect my citizens and therefore having a nuclear missile shining in sun shine in my nation's capital is currently the best insurance there is.
Lord Rune
Om behalf of the good people of Runania, I add our support to the comments made in the OP.

Our support is unconditional.

Until we develop some.
