This is a reminder to those who seem to have forgotten that the USA, USSR, Nazi Germany and other Real-World social/political entities do not exist in the RP forums.

You are quite welcome to discuss social theories and their impacts on your CN nations, afterall, that is a major part of the RP world we have created, but too many threads are drifting into arguments over real-life politics.

This is the final written warning that will be given. Any post in this forum referring to OOC politics/history after the date of this notice is liable to be warned. Repeated offences will result in the closure of the thread in question.

This forum is IC. We have an OOC forum dedicated to political discussion, please use it and not the RP forums.

I understand that many cultures propogate fairy tales purporting to come from a magical land called "Earth," but that's all they are - children's tales. To hold that this is the "fake" world and that the "real" one is immaturity bordering on insanity. We are rulers of nations, and believing in fairy tales is unbecoming to both us and our citizenry.

On the contrary, fairy tales or, more bluntly, can have their uses in generating legitimacy and compliance. Think about how some of the less scrupulous leaders mesmerize their populations with myths such as 'the nation' or 'the free market.' While the enlightened among us may choose to eschew such ridiculous artefacts of false consciousness, we must recognize that other will use them as tools of statecraft. The myths of 'Earth' may not belong here, but they could nevertheless perform a political function.

Perhaps, but the insane concept that "Earth" is a dimension more real than reality is so pervasive that unless one explicitly states that they are using an analogy from fiction, one has only to conclude that they are posting madness. Perhaps appropriate disclaimers would solve this confusion.

From this point forward, I will site specific works of Historical Fiction when referencing the "Earth" timeline.

This isn't really a discussion thread. Perhaps I should've locked this. ph34r.gif
