While not particularly geared towards the present Venetian polices regarding economics, summits were indeed the best way to alert the rest of the world that the Venetians were ready and able to move into the trading game. As well as to gauge the current political atmosphere that the rest of the world was hanging in. The response to the United Kingdom was quick.

"The Republic of Venice will be happy to send a representative to the summit, Avalina Mondalo, who is currently the Vice Minister of Finance in the Republic, will attend on behalf of the Doge. Our travel arrangements will be by air, to arrive on the day the summit is scheduled."

Erich Honecker stood from his seat & requested the attention of all in attendance. He brushed his tuxedo lightly & thrust one hand in his pant pocket while he lightly waved the other in emphasis of his words as he gave a sort of presentation to the attendees as he paced the room. "It is time we realize there is really only one economy in this world. And in fact that is the global economy, the limited yet bountiful resources of the planet we tap & even waste, but share nonetheless. Despite the separations we carve into it, this is our economy & it's time we wake up world- its a mess. Much like professional international arms marketing shattered the backwards tendencies of nations & other entities to erect & support their own individual sales, such needs to be achieved in our one global economy. We have moved swiftly into the common era; isn't it time our global economy caught up?

What we need is a modern order as apposed to the law of the jungle. A...A Trade Federation! One that would consist of representatives of all "sub-economies", if you will of the greater global economy. The pinnacle of achievement in our era is the unified order of our economies in one organized system." He leaned on his chair awaiting to hear from the next speaker.

After a moment to let his initial words sink in a bit, Mr. Honecker continued, "We must maintain an order that would be governed by a world economy, establishing an orderly global economy that will usher in an age of logic as minds are put to master the resources we have to work with; this will be their streamlined mechanism in such endeavors- that in such trade organization, a Viceroy will embody the internal trade body to whom the world economic representatives will be the Sovereign he answers to. This is the vision I have for you all today. Before you I bare the seeds of a more abundant & efficient world & the dream of a global Trade Federation.

Banking is economy, & the economy is banking."

Hock responded by asking a question; "Each country has a different economical policy than their neighbors. How do you plan on getting countries that heavily favor growth and development over environment and health, and countries that value health and environment more to work together? How do you plan on getting countries that have a socialist economic system with high benefits for workers to cooperate with countries that don't even have a federal minimum working hour and wage?"

Hudson representative Donal Runfield had sat down at his seat in the conference room. He was extremely interested in this meeting as, while the Hudson Reich was not exactly a power in the global economy, the government hoped to make it gain a decent holding at least, with plans for the port of Hamburg to be the financial center of the nation. Of course, these plans were put to a halt as a result of the outbreak of civil war, though the Kaiser hoped to implement them eventually once the conflict was over.

"The issue is urgent, but the solution is not so complex. Allow me to explain: Sovereign nations today command their own economies, lets call them "Sub-Economies" because, as I said we as a planet really only have one do you agree? Outside of trade, in which you can delve into tariffs, embargoes etc. that even with trade, individual nations have close to NO pull or weight in the overall global economy. Nations join trade agreements to bolster their weight in the global economy &/or cushion the weight against them, from it. But it remains that no rule of civilized order exists despite our(the world's) technological & intellectual advancement to this point in time. Wouldn't it make sense that all nations be represented in one federation of global trade in which the power, innovation, & enduring achievement of democracy would guide us as a species towards greater prosperity- the Next Frontier in our economy of resource, trade, currency, & banking.

So as you say, if nations that favor growth and development over environment and health, and others that value health and environment more could not work together..well this is precisely the backwards system we use today. The system I propose would bring all ideas, methods, & preferences (through global representation) in which only the best & most practical would survive (through fair democratic process)."

Chadwick stood at this and pulled gently on his large moustaches. Herr Honecker, while I value your input and find myself in agreement with your idea of an International Board of Countries governing Trade, Wouldn't that operation cater to the same issues which face past organizations which tried to unite the world.(OOC: The UN) While I do support your idea, I request your answer to my query. Another Question I have lies in how this Board would combat nations who using their considerable influence against minor nations in an attempt to gain power over them. In a hypothetical what would this organization do if say the UFE were to lay sanctions on Disparu what can we do then?

"When the global economy remains fractured & trapped in the cycle of ancient traditions, how can anyone even begin to imagine toying with the possibility of a United Nations? Men & women who proposed a UN in the past had good intentions, but they got far ahead of themselves. Here is a goal that is realistic, achievable, logical, practical etc. etc. all the things the world is too often in sorry need of. This is no world union- this is taking part in the global market in a orderly way to suit the modern era. Failing to take part would be to take part in failure."

Mr. Honecker took a sip of his coffee, "This Trade Federation is an assembly of representatives whom will use the power of voice & vote to achieve anything. Sanctions? -it may certainly be a tool to meet ends in such a way as sanctioning nations, but that is entirely up to us all & I, personally, would much rather take part & have a pull in the global economy than be subject to the decisions of the rest of the world involved, being outside of it. Power comes from the nations of the world to form this Trade Federation, not the other way around.

Well, here is a basic layout of how such a federation might be set up; Global economic representatives would be seated in what I imagine to be a sort of Congress of the Trade Federation to which the Viceroy would act as speaker as well as adviser & effective puppet to the whim of all global representatives. Similarly, national & private Banks would assemble to create a Directorate of the Trade Federation. Sitting Viceroy would endure tremendous responsibility & would require an intimate understanding of its function and purpose.

The purpose of the Viceroy will be to enact the will of the TF Congress & oversee the balance of power between National & Corporate as well as the Banking assembly as a sort of check & balance so that, as an example, Bankers will not overshadow national & corporate assemblies (banks being counted outside of corporate groupings & are excluded from that assembly). Above all, National representation will never be undermined. It is nations who guide & turn the world, not one man or small elite.

For the first time in history, what exactly a global economy means will be entirely determined by we, its masters."

"You must realize from the number of nations that are not here that many nations will not join this Trade Federation. With so many nations not even considering to join how will you unify them all?"

Samantha takes a long pause then resumes. "Currently if a Trade Federation was to be made it would not have the power that would be needed to control global economy. In the end this may fail and waste money and time of all the nations that would be willing to join. Be assured that while i support this the rest of the High Council may not on the basis of not having the power necessary to grow."

Samantha takes a long breath. "With the current economic situation within Orrilea we cannot afford to waste time and money on something that in the long run will simply not have us grow, we need to see more economic nations that would join before we invest in this idea."
