Announcement from the Election Commission of the Tahoe Republic
The Tahoe Republic recently completed elections for membership of the Oireachtas (Parliament). Eighty-one out of 162 seats were contested, as TO's serve two year terms. The Election Commission regards this election as legally valid, with the highest of ethical standards being met by both candidates and the actual election process itself.

Analysis
The conservative, nationalist National Party continues to dominate the Oireachtas. The Socialist Party lost major support, and has continued its trend downwards in all Federal Elections since 2002. The Democratic Party, a centrist party, gains 11 seats and moves from a sectional party based in the Drogheda (San Francisco) region. Independent TO's go from 9 to 2 seats, mostly due to the retirement of the popular politicians who did not seek re-election.
