Browncoats Elections

Ladies and gentlemen of Planet Bob, it is my honor and privilege to announce to you fine folks that the Browncoats first elections have finished, and the votes have been tallied, or would have been, except everyone was running unopposed. I'll be quick, so we can all hit the bar.
As Prime Minister, we have King David the Loyal, of Malkavias.
Returning as Minister of Defense, the one and only ChairmanHal, all the way from the Haleenstar Republic.
Our new Home Minister is Asriel Belacqua, of Surda, who of course previously served as our Minister of Foreign Affairs.
And finally, the new Minister of Foreign Affairs would be myself, Gnarsh of Vapaa.
Best of luck to our new government!
Gnarsh steps down and makes a beeline for the bar.

"I'm not one for ceremony," the outgoing Prime Minister begins. "But sometimes the situation calls for it.
"I am the leader of the free city of New Whitefall, capital of the Second Republic of Revalia. I am also, for the next few minutes at least, the Prime Minister of the Browncoats, and the inheritor of several major messes.
"I won't bother to reacquaint you with the various and sundry problems facing New Whitefall, which have required my attention elsewhere. I have had no choice but to put the real concerns of my people ahead of everything else, as I'm sure anyone else, friend or foe, would do in the situation. But in doing that, I was unable to be the sort of Prime Minister needed at this crucial hour of our founding.
"I will state this for my legacy, though: it did two things. I managed to find a safe haven for the Intelligentsia and the dirt-bound Browncoats, and the transition from Intelligentsia to Browncoats went perfectly smoothly.
"Also, with my inactivity at the federal level, I taught you all one very, very important lesson; one I hope each and every citizen of this fine alliance takes to their graves: Do not depend on the government. The government should be there to help you, to protect you. But the man that counts on such protection is a fool. Look to your own nation, your own self, first. After that, look to what you can do for others in place of the government. Only after all that is exhausted ought you look to your government.
"This rather libertarian lesson in civics, I am proud to say, was not lost on a single one of you. In the absence of a strong federal Browncoat government, you all pitched in to get the necessary things done. We've been a home to people, cities and even whole nations looking for a fresh start. We've grown-slowly, but surely. We're recalling the best and the brightest from the ancient League of Intelligent Humans back home to us to guide our government. We're forgin' treaties and trade pacts an' gettin' along in this world, all in spite of your highest government official, and not because of him. Give yourselves a gorram round of applause for being the most can-do bunch of folks on this rock."
Applause breaks out before Richards can complete the sentence. Richards motions the ministers-elect to stand up, and they do.
"And give another round of applause to the best of the best, the leaders and nations who are stepping up to provide us with an active, vigorous federal government.
"I present to you our Minister of Defense, voted in for a second term, the celebrated, feared ChairmanHal of the Haleenstar Republic, easily one of the best strategic minds on the planet. I present to you our new Foreign Minister, Gnarsh of Vapaa, who has been one of our most steadfast diplomats. He is replacing Asriel Belacqua, who has done a bang-up job as Foreign Minister and is now our new Home Minister."
Prime Minister Stuart Richards pauses for a second, for the applause to die down. He wistfully looks down at his hand, to a ring containing the launch codes for the Browncoat nuclear arsenal. Smiling sadly, as if watching a young child grow up, he slips the ring off his finger, slowly but assuredly. He places it on the finger of the incoming Prime Minister. As he does so, his sad smile grows into a triumphant grin, and he grabs King David's left hand with his right.
"And may I present to you, as my first act as a private citizen of New Whitefall, the new Prime Minister of the Browncoats, King David the Loyal of Malkavias!"
The crowd bursts out in cheers, celebratory gunfire, and church bells can be heard clanging away in the distance.
"All hail the Prime Minister! All hail Malkavias! All hail Browncoats!"
As the commotion sounded, three T-21 Saints flew over Parliament, after all these months still flying.

And to Stuart Richards, here's to you, you may not have been the most active Prime Minister, but, you got us started, and that's the best gift you can give to an alliance.
I guess it is time to remove my MoFA badge and replace it with another.
With obviously great sorrow in his eyes, Asriel removes his badge, and with a great pride, puts on his new one.
(For those who have no idea what I am talking about with "badges," they are signified in my Signature as the little brown bar with my position on it...)

"If I can make a brief statement, we can get to celebratin' and drinkin'"
Applause from the crowd that has yet to hit the bar
"First and foremost, I'll try not to break anything much around here. Well, anything important other than some rookies livers. But on a quick and important note I would like to announce that I am appointing a deputy prime minister here and now. Former Prime Minister Richards will be staying aboard the Browncoats government afterall. We tend to keep things around that we like...much like the rum."
King David steps back, salutes his new deputy and then heads to the bar
