I was mostly kidding... if one of us generalized then it was you saying republicans are worse than Fascists...
funny I actually see the Democrats as very similar to the Republicans... the only close ones to Socialism would be Kucinich and Gravel, and they are barely Social Democratic... I can't say I can think of one Democrat who is anywhere close to Socialist, though the two parties are beginning to become one of the same... both support big government and spying over the people, homeland security anyone?

I suppose it really depends on what end of the spectrum you're sitting at as to how you view the political parties. In theory, Democrats support regulation, big government and a welfare state. In Theory Republicans are fiscally conservative, support deregulation, devolution of powers, strict constructionism and responsible small government. Too bad it's not always true in the real world. The joke was really meant to be on the sub-groups of republicans that are essentially fascists.
