The Arctic Meeting

In Paradigm City, an honor guard as well as several guards were waiting for the arrival of the Disparuean representatives at the Smith International Airport.

A chartered aeroDisparu flight soon landed at Smith International Airport. On board was Lilian Meridian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. She was accompanied by two officials from the Judicial Police, as well as her subordinates in the Ministry. She gracefully went down the steps in front of her, while her officers scrutinized their environment for any threats. As soon as she reached the ground, she would begin looking for the government of Blue Heaven's officials.

One of the guards came up to Ms. Meridian and told her that the Blue Heaven officials were at the Disparuean embassy and asked for her and her staff to get into the series of limos that'd just lined up, so that they could take them there.

"Only one will be needed. Thank you, though." said Meridian, smiling. She then turned around and whispered to one of the officers behind her. The officer nodded and pulled out a radio transmitter and relayed an order through it. Moments later, a man wearing a beret and a parka descended from the airplane and joined the Disparuean representatives on the ground. He was carrying a dossier and a briefcase with him. The man nodded at Meridian.

The four Disparueans would then proceed towards one of the limos and got it. They would patiently wait for the limos to arrive at their destination.

Within 15 minutes, the limo arrived in front of the Disparuean embassy and the passengers were delivered at the door where they would meet Roger and Dorothy Smith, the special envoys to the Disparuean ambassadorship.

Meridian immediately noticed the couple as soon as she got out of her limo. She quietly stood on her spot, slightly shocked by what she was seeing. "Er...um...aren't you supposed to be dead?" inquired Meridian. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude, it's just that...I could've sworn I sent a letter to your wife, telling her that we were sorry about your death..." She turned towards her assistant. "Wallace, did I miss any memos from the Ministry? This doesn't make any sense..."

After Powell held his 'news conference' some soldiers that happened to still be loyal to be took me away to a nearby hospital where surgery was done on me. After that I decided to lay low and live life as an investor. After that a small uprising of radicals threatened the government, but I turned them in. I then decided to be a special envoy to Disparu."[/font][/size][/color]

Roger and Dorothy led the Disparueans inside and sat down.

"I'm here to talk about a possible NAP and increased economic relations between our two nations," said Roger. "What do you think of that?"

Meridian had a quick discussion with Wallace before replying. "That would be spectacular. A little more peace and trade never hurt anyone, right? Anyways, what exactly are the treaty's specifics?

"Well, obviously we agree to resolve all problems diplomatically. Two, we agree to have all trade barriers taken down and we'll both have most-favored nation status. What resources does Disparu have by the way?"

"Quite a lot. Disparu produces ample amounts of gold, iron, titanium, copper, zinc, silver, niobium and asbestos. We also produce a lot of freshwater fish, maple syrup, dairy products and lumber." said Meridian. "What can Blue Heaven offer? Also, how is Blue Heaven these days? Does your government still work the same way?"

"We would be quite interested in the copper, zinc, and silver as well as the fish, dairy products and lumber. We can offer oil, sugar, lead, and a variety of meat products as well as synthetic crude. Blue Heaven is doing well. The government is still a republic," Dorothy said proudly.

"Those can be quickly arranged. As for your resources, I believe the Government would be interested in oil, lead and synthetic crude. Considering that the Confederation of Arctic Nations is essentially a paper tiger or non-existent at this point, I believe we will be able to establish efficient shipping routes throughout the former Canadian Arctic islands. The nearest major Disparuean port from Blue Heaven would be...Ivujivik, in Nunavik province, I think." said Meridian.

"I suppose you'd be curious on how things are in Disparu. You see, we are still ruled with an iron fist by an aggressive, out-of-touch, tyrannical, sadistic and power-hungry ruler known as His Royal Majesty, Lance Pikachurin." joked Meridian. "Nah, just kidding. We're still a relatively stable federation of, um, four provinces. Our nation is primarily French, and our Government is a constitutional monarchy and a federal parliamentary democracy. The House of Pikachurin is still in power, the same goes for the Empire Party." said Meridian. "Though, we've been hit by terrorist attacks recently, and the Government has been working around the clock to resolve this problem. If you have any questions, I'll try to answer them to the best of my abilities."
