Sir Exodus
It was November 2009, a group of nations had a dream: A dream of friendship; a dream of strength; a dream of prosperity; and a dream of a place where all nations could come together to build their empires. They forged for hours constructing the foundation and principles to guide them to this dream. Hammering out all the details, making sure it would come to fruition and achieve their goals. It was throughout this process that the Federation of Allied Republics (FAR) was established to facilitate and help realise this dream. FARs strongest leadership took the helm and provided the energy and enthusiasm that nations needed to dedicate themselves to this dream. Aid programs, tech deals, and excellent guidance propelled mature nations to new heights and gave new nations the start they thought was unachievable. Fresh from reaching 500k NS, and from gaining over 75 members, FAR is now in the process of its first Golden Age and ushering in a new era in our existence. Throughout our growth, whether the thickest or thinnest times, our friends, allies, and our protectors in the New Polar Order stuck by us. They gave us guidance when we were lost, they gave us light when we could not see, and they gave us hope when we had no faith. They have been there when we needed them. Their little brothers have finally grown and matured. We have stood tall and proud, we have proven ourselves so that we are now considered equals. It is my honour and privilege to be the one to introduce the following treaty upgrade: New Polar Order - Federation of Allied Republics It Gets Cold When You're FAR Away Accords Mutual Defense Optional Aggression Pact Article I: Nonaggression Both signatories will hereafter refrain from any form of hostile activity, hereafter defined as military force, internal subversion or espionage of any kind, against the other. Article II: Conduct Signatories of this pact pledge to show only respect and good will towards each other. While this will prohibit outright verbal hostility in all its forms, it will not restrict healthy debate or productive disagreement. Article III: Mutual Defense Should either signatory be subject to an act of aggression, they are well within their rights to request military support, which the other signatory is obligated to provide unless the former signatory had become involved in a conflict via other treaties with other alliances or blocs. In such a case, the request for aid becomes voluntary. Article IV: Optional Aggression Should either signatory find it necessary to commit an act of aggression upon a third party, they may request military support from the other signatory, though this request is under no circumstances an obligation. Article V: Assistance Should either signatory come into need of aid of either political or financial aid, they may request such support as is necessary from the other signatory. It is recognized, however, that this request is in no way an obligation. Article VI: Intelligence Should vital knowledge of a political or military nature come to the attention of one signatory, they are required to share it with the other. Article VII: Cancellation It is the hope of both signatories that this pact may last forever, or until the bond it represents grows to the point where an upgrade is merited. Given the uncertainties of the future, however, it is recognized that should any of the above Articles be violated, or should some major irreparable disagreement arise, that this pact maybe canceled after 5 days notice.
